Shields Blender - Kevin Shields Signature Fender Blender?

Buh-WHAAA?

Shields Blender

I, and many of you, have been saying for years there oughta be another Fender Blender RI, and said Kevin Shields deserves some cool signature stuff as much as anyone.

They are not screwing around here.

Fender makes some really decent amps for less money than that.

Spenny, but a fairly historic moment and I bet they’ll go up in price (or, at least, remain a very cool item for MBV fans). I grabbed one on finance so it’s not too much of a hit.

I've got a couple on their way. Not going to lie, one is to stash as a sort-of investment.

I screencapped the listing to show my wife. She thought the pedal was cool, then noticed it was still listed as Buy It Now. I told her I wanted her to know that I knew I COULD. I didn't. I won't. But I could have.

Even to sell at the insane prices I bet they'll go for second hand. I can't even imagine what this is going to do to the already-crazy price on the RIs from a decade or so ago.

I’m not sure these are ever gonna hit “crazy” prices but I could be wrong. I bet they will hold their value, but compared to the Tonebender release Boss did a few years ago (to use a limited edition expensive fuzz as an example) no one I know is interested in this at £449.

(I have a little guitar WhatsApp group with some friends, so it’s a straw poll between that and what I’m seeing on forums and socials etc and the general consensus from everyone but me in that group is “meh”).

I’m still on the fence. Might do it as I love KS and MBV but it’s still just crazy money for a fuzz pedal that I will not use as intended.

I wish I had the guts to do this. I keep seeing Fender gear that makes me think, "I bet that's going to go up a lot in price," and often that day comes within 2-5 years, but I still can't bring myself to do it.

It'll probably be selling for $1k in like 2 years.

Good for Kevin, but holy moly I can't think of a sound I'd want to hear or use less.

It's a kinda shitty thing to do but it's not like I ordered 10 of them (I was tempted to :D ).

It looks like they might have already sold out on the Fender website

They indeed sold out on the Fender website. The only way to buy them is through Andertons in the UK or on Reverb in the US.

Got off the phone with Sweetwater and they shared this info - they did not get the pedal.

The demo sounds great!
A Fender Blender "Factory" is a cool idea!
Kevin Shields is a maestro of fuzz and I think this is an excellent artist signature product!

It has way too many controls and I think it would frustrate me more than inspire me. But I can be simple sometimes.
