FX500 hum
got my hands on one for very cheap, trying to run it through the effects loop in a hx stomp. Lots of hum and redline, even though I'm using the -10db input and instrument level send/returns on the hx stomp. Any fixes for the hum? It came with an original (I assume) 12v yamaha pa-3 power supply. I've tried to get the unit as far away as I can from my computer monitor and the hx stomp as possible. I'm hoping it doesn't need a recapping. Anyone had to service one of these? There is scant info out there. I have a keeley realizer so I don't really need this unit but I wanted to play around with it anyways

Re: FX500 hum
How does it do when guitar > fx500 > amp? (Or headphones)
Also maybe test both front and rear inputs.

Do you have another power supply that you could try with it?

Damn. No. could a faulty power supply be the cause?

It is possible, but it's most likely the filter caps. I was just trying to see if you could rule out the power supply before needing to open it up...which is honestly not that bad if you can solder.
