From the weird video with the d&d intro, it sounds like a fuzz.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

To be fair that could be on a lot of people's business cards, myself included. There's only so much innovation in analog guitar effects that can happen, and snippets tend to get repeated and recombined and that's just fine. I was only pointing out that this has zero to do with anything attributed to EHX, with the exception of the case.

What is it then? I might roll my own since I actually like the sound quite a bit.Dr Tony Balls wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 5:58 amIs it? Its two well known DIY circuits mashed together that has nothing to do with EHX.
By the way, the enclosure design might not be his brightest work (looks okay but didn't totally nail the style of vintage EHX imo) but that Daniel Danger does some very nice posters: http://www.tinymediaempire.com/new-gallery

Freestomboxes dissected it before I even knew it was a thing that existed (Josh posted front and back PCB shots): https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?t=32602
Its a bazz fuss smashed up against an Escobedo push me pull you. There are a number of internally hosted images in that thread that I cant post here without re-hosting, but will if you need an account to see them.
*also side not but mounting the 3PDT to the vintage style PCB is BARF CITY.

Point taken, but I don't think you've ever claimed any of those "recycled" snippets (or, in fact, entire circuits) were of your own design...Dr Tony Balls wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 6:57 amTo be fair that could be on a lot of people's business cards, myself included. And I dont know that Josh or Daniel did, either. Just saying it has no borrowed snippets from classic EHX circuits. The homage is aesthetic only.fever606 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 8:31 amPoint taken, but I don't think you've ever claimed any of those "recycled" snippets (or, in fact, entire circuits) were of your own design...Dr Tony Balls wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 6:57 amTo be fair that could be on a lot of people's business cards, myself included. Re: What do we think about the EHX/JHS Lizard Queen?
I kinda wanted the big box version ever since I saw the video where they did the RP way back in the day. Honestly kinda glad they sold out by the time I found out about them (26 minutes after the video dropped lol) because I would have spent the stupid money on it. Since I started building pedals I've not really felt the urge to buy any fuzz pedals since they're mostly simple enough unless they have cool art or something.
Probably talking about the other pedals JHS has ripped over the years. I know of the Burnrunner (or is it bumrunner?) and the Superbolt, not sure if there are others he passed off as his own.Dr Tony Balls wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 8:35 amAnd I dont know that Josh or Daniel did, either. Re: What do we think about the EHX/JHS Lizard Queen?
That sums up JHS generally as a pedal company. His model is cross promotion on YouTube. His pedals are "probably ok". I am not sure anything interesting has ever piqued my interest, and potentially a lot of cloning which then is not far off what Mosky does, just more expensive.
TGP feels like a large warehouse of posts that don't stay very long. Too big but may have some use if you know what you want exactly. There was simultaneously posts of "its better not to use any pedals" and "help me figure out WDW ambient rig what are you using" or something.
OSG is a small independant bookshop and enjoyable to browse.

I wanted to like JHS, all hype and marketing aside. I really did. Then I bought a couple of their pedals. The only way I can describe how they make me feel is via the magic of analogy. They're like waiting in line for ice cream and only getting a soggy, melted vanilla cone.

Don’t worry, when you’ve got so many your partner doesn’t even realise; that’s a different ballpark.

Re: What do we think about the EHX/JHS Lizard Queen?
A long time ago he claimed that 99.999% of his pedals were 'originals' but every single one has turned out to be a derivative of some well known circuit with just a couple of tweaks.shoegaze_head wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 9:25 amProbably talking about the other pedals JHS has ripped over the years. He's a fucking (very successful) grifter. And a horrible human with his socio-political views and affiliations. I repeat:
Fuck Josh Scott
