Do you even wah bro? Colorsound content
Got this pedal, im not much of a wah user but this is a cool tool to have in my arsenal...
Just picked it up on my way to work today.. So haven't even tested it yet.
But back to my question, do you even wah?

They have a longer sweep than most wahs. You can get closer if you clip the back rubber grommets on a Vox or Crybaby, but still not quite there. I always got a cramp playing mine if I was doing a full sweep for too long and not just a short rocking

Love a good Colorsound wah.
Very long throw and wide sweep.
I have a B&M Champions wah, which is a Colorsound with a different badge. Very unique wah flavor (I have a bit of a wah problem.... four total)

Despite living in the Land Of Colorsound, I've never tried one of their wahs. Closest I got was this MuSonic W-100 made in Illinois which was utterly massive in size and totally impractical. Sounded great though...
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Haven't ever really found a use for a wah-wah effect, but I've used them as a Ronsonesque notched Eq from time to time.
My CSL Wah-Fuzz is secretly a Colorsound/Solasound one:

I love the idea of a wah. Borrowed a box one off a friend & couldn’t turn it on/off fluidly to work how I wanted. And I lost like 20% volume/tone when it was on.
And autowah on multi-fx are just
Maybe I should try a wah again one day. Just like shimmer, everyone needs 30 seconds of wah somewhere in a song, right?

I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

I eventually sold it, but the Morley Bad Horsie wah (Steve Vai signature of all things) is optical and treadle activated.sal paradise wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 2:54 amI love the idea of a wah. I tried a bunch when I was looking and this was the clear winner. Sound-wise it’s less shrill, maybe because it’s intended for high gain.

Re: Do you even wah bro? Colorsound content
This is once again an area where I feel modeling technology proves its worth.
I've got a wide variety of wahs on my AxeFX, and all of them can be set to activate and deactivate by whatever means you find most convenient. I like to use auto- engage (turns the wah on as soon as you start rocking the expression pedal) and "heel-off" (disengages by rock the wah all the way back and leaving it there, the responsiveness of which can be adjusted).
None of this "leaning forward with all my weight" business like my old Crybaby. Any model of wah can have its volume adjusted to reach whatever unity or boost gain scenario you like.
I went many years without using wahs before this, just because they were more trouble than they were worth. Volume issues, ice-picky sweeps, frustrating on/off switches, etc.

The pot crackles on this one when it gets to its lowest position, i sprayed contact cleaner but no luck.
Maybe ill have to disassemble the pot and clean it? Don't really want to mess around with it.. But yeah, the crackling sucks.
