I found having Boss pedals in my chain always kept the high-end better intact thanks to their buffer (which I am a fan of).
Regardless of all the chatter, the best version of the BD-2 is mine, and I will die on this hill...

This makes me so happy
I have a stock BD-2, a WEED modded one (for insane gain) and an Analogman modded one. Next to the Analogman one, the stock one sounds unfinished, like it was released before R&D was done prototyping it and tweaking it and Boss rushed production to get it out the door. The Analogman one just sounds like what the stock one was trying to be.

I thought about putting my BD-2 guts inside of either my OD-3 or SD-1 case

The best Blues Driver is one that’s switched off. Give me an SD-1 any day!

This thread made me impulse buy a Blues Driver too! I've never owned one because, like many of you, the name put me off! Aren't we fickle creatures!
Once I saw Johnny's "Kirby Driver" I decided I was going to strip it down and repaint it too. I was thinking a Pink Yoshi Driver would be cool (always pick that character for Mario Kart) but not sure how I'd pull it off yet.
Order was cancelled on eBay anyway so I'll keep looking...

However you do it... Wilko/B&Q/generic spray paint and POSCA paint pens are your friend

Think I'll go with an acrylic pour job for mine. Something like this:
No idea what to call it, though.

Looks like something from
https://gearant.com/ , I know they do custom work if you don't want to DIY.

Yeah, I discovered their site recently. Cool stuff. Not sure where they’re based, but it’s unlikely to be near me, so sending it to them wouldn’t make much sense. Plus I’m already part way through DIYing and have ordered a bunch of paints. I have a Muff clone and a little ABY box that’ll probably get similar treatments.

Looks a bit like when car oil leaks into a puddle on the street. I like it

I used to love the SD-1 but now it just sounds way too midrange-y and harsh with my current amps.

I could never get on with how much it cut the low end. And I've never been a fan of a midrange boost.

Never tried one, always put off by the name and the doubled price vs SD-1, but…. Used Waza one now heading this way thanks to this thread.

I actually have a 3rd BD-2 on its way now
I have the Kirby driver as my main in the gigging case, along with a backup. I miss having one on the home board so I thought I'd pick up another.
I think I have a problem
