Re: Best version of the BD-2
Found a BD-2 locally for $40 before the holidays and surprised me with the ground it covers. One of the best drives and it's easy to dial in a useable setting. Not rare, don't have to send a courier pigeon to place an order, just load local used ads and pick one.

BD-2 number 3 landed today and it got a very quick & dirty instant rattlecan makeover:
This will do until they do a 30th Anniversary model in black (fingers crossed).

Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

A vast improvement! I'm already missing having mine on the board. Need to get the paint finished.

I think the snooze driver needs a Snorlax paint job, personally.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Honestly, someone could just pick up a side hustle repainting Boss pedals as various Pokemon critters.

I could see a "Boss X Nintendo" collaboration making sense. A man can dream...

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Although you say it’s a quick and dirty job, it’s still quite neat. I’m interested to know how much you pull the pedal apart before spraying, or do you simply mask things off?johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 1:44 pmBD-2 number 3 landed today and it got a very quick & dirty instant rattlecan makeover:

Used Waza has landed. I showed it to Mrs Cestlamort and she was immediately: “gross!” Be still my 90s indie rock heart.cestlamort wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 11:24 amNever tried one, always put off by the name and the doubled price vs SD-1, but…. Used Waza one now heading this way thanks to this thread.
We’ll see how it sounds…

Re: Best version of the BD-2
I've pulled mine apart completely. It's not difficult, so I see no reason not to. And ideally you want to scuff the original finish so the new paint sticks properly – don't think you'd want to risk getting that dust in the electronics. Only slight faff is that you have to desolder the footswitch to get it out.

Yeah, I pulled mine apart totally too. It's a very quick job once you've desoldered the 2 wires on the footswitch as already mentioned. I mask off the footpad though as I can never be bothered to get that off.

Re: Best version of the BD-2
Here we go! Boss BD-2 Waza. I’ve spent about an hour with this thing and can already say it pairs so good with my set-up. I feel like a fool for not picking one up sooner. As everyone has said, it’s so versatile. It can really do most of all that I need. It just has that sound. I’m not sure which mode I like most. They’re both very usable. The original circuit is darker and the custom seems to cut through a bit more…anyway obligatory photo. Thanks everyone on this thread for contributing
