Interesting, well I am glad I passed on that then. My Vanamps solemate adds a tinge of gain and increases volume a hair if the output is over half which makes me sort of love it even more.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 8:12 am...If you want your guitar volume to decrease as you turn the reverb up. Yes, its a good emulation of the Fender unit, but I couldn't get on with the real thing either.

If he didnt sold it, he should by now. They goes for more used then they were new back then.shoegaze_head wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 8:40 amMy buddy got one because it popped up for cheap on craigslist. Can't remember if he flipped it or if its collecting dust at the bottom of his sock drawer but either way I remember him being less than impressed with the sound.

Really? It's pretty obvious. Just by it's very design the dry signal goes down as the wet signal goes up (that's why you can get fully wet with it). The original units did the same, as well as significantly colour the signal (even when bypassed). I sold my 6G15 reissue and replaced it with an FRV-1 only to find they did too good a job recreating it... for my tastes.Arthon wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 5:41 amNever acknowledge the volume drop with mine.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 8:12 am...If you want your guitar volume to decrease as you turn the reverb up. Re: Your Favorite Boss RV Compact Reverb?
I realize it's a tiny, biased sample size, but I'm surprised how neck and neck the 4 options seem to be at the moment, with the RV-2 only trailing by a vote and the other 3 in a tie with 6 votes each.
Just neat to see. I posted the same question over on TGP and the RV-6 was winning by a mile. Just an interesting comparison.

you gotta dirty it up further down the signal line! also, yeah, reverb past about 2 o'clock is nigh uselessjohnnysomersett wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 5:44 amReally? It's pretty obvious. At 9 o'clock its way less noticeable for sure, definitely still there a touch though. If it's not enough to bother you then that's cool. I loved the reverb that thing made but in the end it bothered me enough to move back over to a Flint.

Welp, in part because of this thread I now have an RV-6 on its way to me. Look at what all of you have done.

Another one here for the RV-3. It's wonderfully of its time, unabashedly digital, and just the thing for getting weird. Plus it's versatile.
This is an excellent rectangle
