Is that not the point of the Superego +, though? That it has a selection of effects that can be used on the frozen signal?øøøøøøø wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 9:26 amOne thing that would've been beneficial to add on these pedals, in my view, is a separate output for the "frozen" signal versus the dry signal.

But if the sustained part could be processed and treated differently, it could be high-passed, it could be side-chained, it could be pulsed with a tremolo or repeat percussion, it could be swelled with a volume pedal... all manner of things to make it do something besides "destroy the groove by obscuring the kick drum's punch"

Yes!
Which is cool, and helpful. But it doesn't allow you to give separate (level) control over the frozen signal to front-of-house, which is where it'd be really helpful.
Of course, that would really only help in situations where FOH knew the music, which isn't the case most of the time (unless you're on a larger tour).

Hmmm, seems something that might be negotiated using the send/return.
But then I suppose you still have the drone going through your output, so you wouldn't have a "wet" and "dry" out.
I've very much talked myself back round to needing this pedal.

How do these work with overdrive & delay?
I’ve loved the idea of a sustainer since Ed o’brien. Assume all I’d do is make a hot mess of feedback though.

I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

They work great with overdrive and even fuzz
Though obviously they work best with single notes and perfect consonances (power chords) as overdriven/distorted sounds always tend to

I guess that was what I was trying to say, albeit rather poorly It would indeed be amazing!sessylU wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 10:58 amIs that not the point of the Superego +, though? Turns out it can do exactly that.øøøøøøø wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 11:32 amYes!

https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/el ... erego-plusBy default, the wet and dry signals share the same output but if you want to split them, the effects loop send can carry the synth-only signal, leaving the main output to carry only the dry signal.

Re: Freeze/Superego Users -- What do you think?
It's funny you mentioned that, Brad. I've always wished it had wet/dry lines out so I could run it to a separate track while recording (We'll currently overdub those parts) and mess about with having a second line that is more distorted, modulated -or whatever- than the main signal.
At one point, I had thought about getting a SuperEgo, but there's something about the simplicity of the footprint on the Freeze that works for me. I'm going to dig around and see if I can find a vid where someone modded the hell out of theirs - I "think" they may have done a separate line out... but I could be wrong. It's been a while.
