Re: Dumb names for future boutique pedals
In a few years people will be cloning things like Death By Audio "classics" the way they clone Fuzz Faces now.
Collector culture will finally reach convergence. All pedals will also be pop culture references and puns.
Someone will release a pedal enclosed in genuine, salvaged, and refurbished TMNT Technodrome toys from the late '80s. It will be as big as a basketball and the eyeball on top will be the foot switch.
It will be the Octave Krang.

Okay, I apologize in advance for this one.
A dual pedal ― ProCo Rat going into a Malekko Barker Assmaster.
Call it the Richard Gere.
Sorry.

I would buy this...MrShake wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 4:32 amThe Cure gets a signature pedal, it's just a BF-2 into a Boss Delay.
It's called the "Disintegrator" and has a smeared lipstick paint job.
$400.
Or you can get the deluxe one, an analog delay with no time knob, it's hardwired to "Seventeen Seconds", per the name. Comes with a tab of LSD and a Camus quote etched on the board.
$500

Re: Dumb names for future boutique pedals
"Are you having trouble with that subtle shimmer? Then try the brand new vibrato pedal for people who want a new pedal to show off on Instagram and Sunday morning, but don't REALLY want to be able to HEAR the pitch bending those nasty old boss pedals make - they're not even true bypass! So, in the original spirit of Shoegaze, we've come up with a pedal that will take care of it for you - all in one box. That perfect vibe pedal that lacks so much depth you can't even tell it's moving. That's right, it's there on your board, people will see our enclosure hand-painted by former members of bands that once opened for Moose. Let them gasp as the LED shifts color slowly to make sure you know it's vibratoing... err... vibrating? Vibro-ing? And we PROMISE that LED will be the only way to tell you're using our new, Official Shoegaze Vibrato...
The Only Shallow.
$276.49, there's already a 2 year wait-list.
The pedal is expected to be released in 2028."

Re: Dumb names for future boutique pedals
I don't know if this counts, but here's my Klone. It took me 10 minutes to design, but I've had more than enough requests for copies, that it's tempting to do small runs until a C&D shows up.
Currently working on a Nevernude inspired Bluesbreaker. Also, I'm going to build a pile of (Swollen) Pickle Ricks one of these days, then sell them for $500.

Oh my god, these are both amazing! If we are going with a theme of adult-oriented animation show-themed pedals, how about a looper pedal with a picture of Archer called "Phrasing"?ThePearDream wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 6:41 pmI don't know if this counts, but here's my Klone. Re: Dumb names for future boutique pedals
Inspired by the Loomer, this is that reverb-into-gain tone that the kids are crazy about! But this time it's an actual reverb brick with the dwell hardwired for torrential downpour and leg-drop thunderclaps, into a painstaking recreation of the super-chainsaw drive channel of a "beloved" classic period-correct practice amp for those toanz you can only get in a hand-wired boutique.
