Generation Loss MKII
I got in on the preorder. Not sure if this first preorder batch is still open for more orders as I saw a video where he was closing it soon.
I’ve been wanting one since they came out the first time, which was what, 2-3 years ago maybe? The only way to get one was fork over the the $700 to $1k asking prices people were wanting from them. These are $400, still not cheap, but nothing does this sort of thing better in my research. The Shallow Water does some similar cool things and is a bit cheaper, but I’m glad I held out for the Chase Bliss. I figured that the release would’ve happened a long time ago and I wasn’t really expecting it. But, here it is. This new version is also updated to a degree. He also said it will stay in production this time, so that’s a good thing. He did mention there may be a delay in batches due to supply chain etc.. Cannot wait to get my hands on it. Expected shipped time is September to November.

Anyone else get in on this first batch?

I had no idea this pedal existed until a few days ago but I now want one. I think I will preorder one as well. It seems like something I can get a lot of mileage with.Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 6:23 pmI got in on the preorder. Definitely. The pedal originally was from Cooper-FX, then there was a collaboration with Chase Bliss to create a deeper device that really gained popularity. It sold out fairly quickly and everyone started asking crazy prices for them on the used market hovering around 1k.rank wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 6:28 amI had no idea this pedal existed until a few days ago but I now want one. I hope you were able to get in on the pre-order before he closed it. No biggie if not, as it will stay in production. But it could take a while. I’m excited to try the pedal out on everything

I got in on the preorder - wasn't really that fond of the original with guitar but stereo I/O on this one will make it fun with synths and the saturation modes sound real nice.

I had the mkI, which I pre-ordered because it sounded perfect, but sold it for double what I paid. I'd love to own this, but I'd have to sell it again if someone wanted to pay me $800...I should just let someone else have it.

Re: Generation Loss MKII
Hopefully with its continued production we don’t see that. As with anything, there will surely be people who missed out on the first batch who will pay insane prices until they’re restocked. But, this will probably be the last chance that anyone wanting to cash in on that will be able to. Assuming they get production up to meet demand.Singlebladepickup wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 3:13 amI had the mkI, which I pre-ordered because it sounded perfect, but sold it for double what I paid. I have one on preorder as well. Chase Bliss is doing things that no one else is...I love their time based stuff.
I built a clone of the Shallow Water, which has lived on my board ever since, but this looks like it can nail the sound I want much more predictably...and do 100 other things that the Shallow Water won't.

Yeah, I agree. The shallow water is so cool. But I feel like this Chase Bliss pedal far exceeds it.ryland wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 7:19 amI have one on preorder as well. Chase Bliss is doing things that no one else is...I love their time based stuff.

With that said, how did you go about building a shallow water clone?

PedalPCB has a project called the Low Tide Modulator that is a direct clone, you can get a board and the instructions are online. The only tricky part is finding the delay chip these days...the supply of them dried up around Dec/Jan.
I have always built pedals, but really got to work during the pandemic. I've built around 200 since May 2020...it's kept me mostly sane. I'm reaching the end of the line with projects that interest me after having put together pretty much all of my desert island pedals and then some.

New pre-order is open for Jan - March delivery.
This pedal looks/sounds so cool, but it breaks my rules about number of knobs and knobs with multiple functions. I worry I'd be frustrated trying to learn how to make it sing. But that combo of "flutter," "failure," and "saturation" is just delightful to listen to. As a studio tool it seems like it would be stunning!

Yeah, I’m not a fan of all that. I’ll probably just watch some YouTube videos to find a handful of settings I like and leave it alone. Just happy to have it in my arsenal. I can see a few cool uses for itdel wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 12:48 pmNew pre-order is open for Jan - March delivery.
