GROAN.
So, I was pretty happy with things. I had the dirt I want going into the Zoom CDR (greatest pedal of all time) and that was that! I mean, add a compressor and tuner and there it was, just a handful of pedals giving me all the sounds and let's not be GASsy and keep it simple and all that.
AND NOW BOSS GOES AND DOES THIS.
I am furiously making vaguely swearish sounding Swedish Chef noises, because I'm totally mad but actually not at all mad and I just want more shit to make weird noises with and this is way up there for that. I had a good thing going, and now it's crashed and burned. I mean, it's not like this did it all by itself, it was just the last bash of the ram against the gates, but the barbarians are flooding in all the same and now I'm gonna be buying pedals like some asshole on TGP who spends his kids' college fund on gucci pedals for his church band. I'm doomed!

My bandmate is already trying to sell me his Boss DM-2 everytime we talk gear because he's trying to raise money for the RE-2, little does he know I would also like to spare some money for this thing

This will please some people...
From the manual:
Using as the CTL jack
You can connect a footswitch (FS-5U, FS-6, FS-7; sold separately) to switch between TAP and TWIST effects.
CTL1: Press to set the REPEAT RATE in time with the tempo of the song being played (TAP).
CTL2: Long-press to produce an aggressive sense of rotation (TWIST) that oscillates the echoed sound while you
press.
● Using as the EXP jack
Connect an expression pedal (EV-30, Roland EV-5, etc.; sold separately) to continuously change the effect
settings for the expression pedal’s pushed-up (horizontal) and pushed-down (slanted) positions.
Setting the Expression Pedal Function
By connecting an expression pedal (such as the Roland EV-5, sold separately) to the CTL/EXP jack, you can operate the top panel
knobs aside from the [MODE] knob.
You can set the respective sounds for when the expression pedal is at MAX position (pushed all the way up with your toes) and at
MIN position (pushed all the way down with your heel), and make continuous changes to them.
* Use only the specified expression pedal. Connecting expression pedals made by third-party manufacturers may cause this
unit to malfunction.
1. With the power turned off (nothing should be plugged into the INPUT A jack), set the [MODE] knob to
“10”.
2. While holding down the pedal switch, turn on the power (by connecting a plug to the INPUT A jack).
3. Use the respective knobs to set the sound that’s used when the pedal is at the MIN value (pushed all the
way down with your heel).
4. Press the pedal switch.
5. Use the respective knobs to set the sound that’s used when the pedal is at the MAX value (pushed all the
way up with your toes).
6. Press the pedal switch again to exit the settings.
Also, I've just noticed the RE-202 has a midi clock in/out, that's nice

OP..Can you change the title of this thread to match the new 202 release as well?
This pedal looks awesome. Makes me not feel so bad for just selling my re-20 a couple weeks ago.

Oh wow that 202 was a surprise and very tidy looking, the enclosure screams future CE-1 reissue tho right, knowing how much mileage BOSS love to get out of their pedal molds! xD Also funny to see there is nothing we can do but accept the fact that BOSS want us to love the twist function even tho no one has never heard it used in a recorded song ever? (prove me wrong please I'm interested!) the BOSS equivalent of EHX's flerb. Also I'd be interested to see the difference in price between the 202 and a volante. From a quick google it looks like the 202 will cost more. O:

Anyone see a price point on either of these? Curious where they’ll sit in the line up. They do sound great! First the DL4mk2 and now these two. Got some thinking to do
