What you wrote resonated with me. I'm in the same boat. I'm back to barely using a TS9 (my first overdrive from age 12) after deciding that all overdrives sound the same. I did keep another pedal called a millennium overdrive, but it sounds a bit more like a fuzz, so I don't count it.
