What’s that „echo“ knob for? My bet is it’s a really well done fake.

That'll be the echo volume/mix, like on the original units and RE-20.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Ahh.. okay. Well, I’m intrigued. Not a fake then. The controls on this actually make more sense to me than in that wazacraft mock-up.

If they get this right, they might have the Capistan beat in terms of practicality, (assumed) cost and for having more available tape head combinations. Whether it can compete will mostly depend on the quality of the modulation for me. Also looks like there’s no way to replicate the re20‘s twist effect, but it’s not a big deal.

I'm callin fake, this isn't the normal way that boss rolls out pedals but it is the way fake pedals get "leaked".
If OSG has tort me anything...

I think a Boss would rather have a input volume than a wow and flutter control. Also the labeling layout is pretty bad and looks kind of unprofessional. The hue of the green is too blue for a space echo and the silver stripes are again pretty bad design. At first glance I thought it could be real but the longer I look at it, the more I believe it's a fake, too.

The silver stripes could be a nod to the original and I find it hard to judge the hue from these photos. But I agree the labeling looks dodgy: those the lines above and under the first two knobs make things needlessly busy and what do they even indicate?
That mode knob is what confuses me most: there being no white stripes up to mode 4 appears to indicate the first four modes are the no reverb modes (though no separate reverb mode?), but I don't see how mode 10 and 11 would still fit on the top right when the 1 on the bottom just barely made it onto the label. If they got rid of the no reverb modes, wouldn't there be just 8 modes? Also, is the cutout for the pilot light slightly off?

I'm pretty sure those are supposed to indicate that the top knob labels are for the outer pots and bottom labels are for inner pots. The control layout makes good sense even though I do think this is a fake

Well, that’s great news. Apologies for questioning Boss’ labeling design choices.

Yeah, I’m pretty stoked myself.

Wow, that's really great news! :w00t:
They really could have done better in the design departement, though. For instance SY-1 or PS-6 are both quite busy on the labeling, too, but are executed way more elegant imo.

I'm looking forward to Andys demo. I think I want one to replace my Empress Tape Delay which sometimes disappears in the mix.

I don't know what's going on at Boss but in some ways, they're absolutely knocking them out of the park lately(The Boss Fuzzes, the Waza stuff and this Space Echo)! but in other ways they seem to be pushing downhill (SMD construction, esp on the older, commonly modded pedals).
