Does it do anything similar to your Rat-as-treble-boost thing?

I checked out Palisades a while ago for that but i think its quite possibly one of the settings that got reduced out for the Dunes...and to me the Plumes takes the Dunes halfway to a Klon or something- is a bit different to a TS?
Haven’t experimented with it enough at volume. The 3 clipping modes all sound pretty different.

Is it a boutique tubescreamer clone?
Depends on your definition of boutique.
Hah, I was cheating because I knew nothing of which companies have released which clones when. But the "lighter side of things" made me immediately presume TS.

Glad you're getting on with it. My initial impressions of TS circuits was super negative, because I had a solid state amp and was looking for pedals to provide all the gain. The TS really shines in several roles, but none of them are that.

They're amazing for driving tube amps hard, for driving other pedals hard, for subtracting bass and bumping mids to clean up the response of another source of high gain, for giving a coloured boost to solos, and all sorts of other stuff. But turning the gain up and volume down into a clean amp is literally the one way to make every tubescreamer sound awful in my experience, and that's all I knew how to do (or had money to do) when I first tried one, which led to many years of writing them off as overhyped.

I still don't think they're essential pieces of gear like some do, but I can recognize that they do certain things very well, which is progress for me.

You pretty much summed up why I decided to get it. I figured it was time to give the TS thing a proper try since I have up until now never owned one and have some probably stupid biases.

I’m two band practices in with this now and I’m really liking position #2 (no clipping diodes).

My guitar in this band has a single pretty hot P90 and most overdrives are either too shrill or get mushy, so I’ve been just using a clean boost just to poke the amp a little.

Compared to that this has a bit more chime. In *my* setup with high output pickups and a lowish powered amp it’s chimey. Could be nails on a chalkboard with different gear.

Right now I’m digging it. We’ve been messing around with The Soft Boys’ “Queen of Eyes” in practice and that arpeggiated stuff is just great fun with this sound.

It's interesting how we can stumble upon things we weren't actively looking for. By the way, have you ever tried any games that pay real money? They can be a great way to have fun and even earn some extra cash. There are various online platforms where you can play games like trivia, puzzles, or even casino games and potentially win real money.
