I did some things.

Post by pacemaker » Thu Apr 08, 2021 11:09 am

Welp, it happened: after several years of feeling completely satisfied with all my gear, I went on a bit of a pedal bender last night. This is exceptionally uncommon for me because I'm not really a "pedal guy" – I'm much more likely to blow money on yet another guitar than to spend anything on pedals or amps. Anyway, in one fell swoop last night I bought a Janglebox, a Basic Audio Zippy fuzz, and a big-box MXR flanger. Pretty excited!

good to see you back. if i remember rightly, you were always a "keep it simple" guy. i think those 3 are all pretty simple so could work for you

Nice! I've been on a similar pedal binge for the last month or two.

Ha! Yes, I've been mostly lurking for YEARS now. Been posting a little bit here and there lately.
Definitely a fan of simple stuff – four knobs or less, ideally. I'm super excited to fool around with these!

That MXR flanger is killer. I'm sure that'll be a great pickup. The other two I don't have experience with but seems like they're based on some classic gear with modern upgrades, so probably some solid stuff too. I think most people who are "simple" gear people tend to really like using compressors :) I use so much gain already that they don't work for me, but if you have a simple/basic setup, it's amazing what just some light compression can do!
