Putting my first pedalboard back together
I was browsing through some old pictures and noticed my pedal addiction started about 10 years ago.
My band started in 2010. This picture was taken at a rehearsal in October 2010 and as you can see I only had a Boss OS-2 and my Vox AC-15 footswitch:
We played our first show on the 25th of March 2011 and I found this picture of my pedalboard that day:
So, I must have started collecting and putting together a pedalboard somewhere between October 2010 and March 2011, trying to figure out what I needed leading up to that first show.
I was bored last night and got the idea of putting this board back together to celebrate its 10 years anniversary. I've sold and bought so many pedals in the past decade, so it will be a fun experiment to see if I still like it 10 years later.
The DIY pedalboard is an old winebox and I still have it. I still have a Line6 Echo Park as well, although it's not the same one as the one pictured, as I sold and bought it back three times over the last 10 years I have an Ernie Ball Volume pedal jr. and a Korg pitchblack tuner that I don't currently use on my main board, so I decided to use those and not bother with the Boss Volumepedal and tuner, as they don't really affect the sound anyway. I don't have the Vox amp anymore, so not going to bother with the footswitch either.
I already hunted down a reasonably priced Holy Grail Plus and Little Big Muff, so those are incoming. Still looking for a cheap Boss OS-2!

That would be an interesting challenge for myself, to reassemble my 2010 pedalboard. Let us know how this works out for you!

Re: Putting my first pedalboard back together
My first pedalboard was a Vox Wah, Op Amp Big Muff and a Roland Space Echo into an AC-30. Actually there was no board involved back then, just strung them up on the floor.
I still have those pedals, but the Space Echo is a Chorus Echo now, and the AC-30 is from 1993 instead of 1964. I can still line them up and plugin in though!

Re: Putting my first pedalboard back together
I'd have a few, depending on era. The first 'real' one would be a goofy Planet Waves tuner, a Boss BD2, a DOD Grunge, and a DOD Flanger. I recall being pretty happy with it at the time.

Re: Putting my first pedalboard back together
The Holy Grail plus arrived today! The Hall setting sounds as good as I remember, it's just a very nice simple reverb. The Flerb is as useless as I remember, the room setting as boring as I remember. The spring setting sounds surprisingly good to me, although I'm not much of a spring reverb user.
In the meantime I also found a Boss OS-2 for a decent price. Waiting for it to be shipped, as well as the little big muff, so should be able to put the whole thing together somewhere next week.

Re: Putting my first pedalboard back together
The OS-2 and little big muff arrived last week and I've been playing around with them for a couple of days. I really want to like the Boss OS-2 for the nostalgic reason that it was my first pedal, but in reality it's a pretty meh pedal. The sweetspot seems to be to have the color knob around 9 or 10, but apart from that it's pretty useless. The little big muff is fun with the sustain all the way up and the tone all the way down, but I've never really got along with fuzzpedals and this is not going to change it.
I wouldn't want to use these pedals for real anymore, but all in all it was a fun little experiment!

Re: Putting my first pedalboard back together
my first pedalboard was:
digitech whammy 1, digitech hothead, boss CE3 (which i still have) danelectro phaser pedal (the one from the food series) and boss DD3. i dunno how i'd feel about that pedalboard nowadays. the hothead was always just kinda wrong for me and the whammy only got used for tom morello style shit.
i do think looking back on gear can be fun though.

TU-2>80’s small box Rat>Ernie Ball VP>Maxon AD-80 (the one in my avatar)>PN-2
I still have all of these pedals but only the TU-2 lives on a board at the moment.
It was a good setup. Every pedal did something unique and dramatic. Now I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of subtle differences.
