Caline Pure Sky

Post by timiscott » Sat Jan 23, 2021 2:06 am

Does anyone own one of these? I listened to a demo comparing it to a (non-MXR) Timmy and could hear no difference between them. To put that in context, I bought a Tumnus as I could hear clear differences between it and other Klon clones... so I'm not utterly deaf to nuance! I just can't quite believe that a £30 pedal sounds that good!

I have one. It's well worth whatever pittance I paid for it. I did build a Timmy clone to replace it, just so I could have top mount jacks - but they sound identically awesome.

Well... I had one delivered yesterday and Im really impressed with it. I much prefer it to my Tumnus but I do find it pretty noisy. Any suggestions as to how to deal with that?

I haven't had any noise issues with mine. I do keep the gain fairly low though.

There is also the Mosky MM Silver which is also a timmy clone, Mosky have way better quality control than Caline.

I'm not sure Mosky has better quality control than Caline! But the Pure Sky is pretty good. Caline also makes the Azor line up of mini pedals and their Blue Overdrive is the Pure Sky for around $20.

Had this for a few days now and it's really good at the soft, warm drive thing. The real revelation was putting my bass through it - utterly fantastic> it sounds like a revving tank. Very JJ Burnel!

I had one before I found a real Timmy (for a price that wasn't astronomical). The Pure Sky is pretty spot on to the Timmy IMO.

I am thinking of getting a Timmy now as I like the Pure Sky so much. Is it worth shelling out for it, do you think?
