Re: your effects setup?
The only mod i did was to put it in Gladware...
Cause i screwwed up all my small metal boxes. I had it in a VHS box for a while...
Mine isn't noisy, as far as i can tell (I only have one guitar without grounding issues, so i hear a lot of hum )
I haven't had any breaking issues, but I kind of keep some money squirreled away for the day they stop working...

I prefer their older stuff.

Re: your effects setup?
so when you turn it off, you don´t still hear the fuzzed sound, only much much lower?

Re: your effects setup?
damn. i need to get me a new one then. i tried two other ones in the shop before i traded mine, and they both leaked like the one i had, so i guess they made them differently at some point. when did you get yours?

Mine doesn't leak any sound either.
I modded mine by removing two diodes.
HUGE BASS RESPONSE! but slightly less versitile...sadly.

Re: your effects setup?
I think right when they came out, maybe i just got lucky? I did accidentally circuit bend it for a moment though (laid some metal across the circuit board or something...), which made some exciting squeeling sounds, but i doubt that would change anything.mynameisjonas wrote: damn. i need to get me a new one then. i tried two other ones in the shop before i traded mine, and they both leaked like the one i had, so i guess they made them differently at some point. when did you get yours?
StevenD- I don't know if i could possibly get more bass out of mine! I mean, it's really really thunderous!

Re: your effects setup?
Oh I know! It had kick ass bass when I first bought it, and sounded great when playing bass through it, but I guess I got greedy and wanted more. I didn't really know what I was doing, so I opened it up, grabbed a knife and just went at the diodes and cracked them off. It sounds great for that my bloody valentine and mono wall of distortion type of sound, but it lacks mids and is about 3 times as loud as it was when I first got it. On bass, it sounds awesome but just as it is with guitar, it totally disapears when used in a band context. It's also really picky with what amps and speakers are being used, but I don't think that has anything to do with the mod. It's really cool! An EQ is a great addition for this thingy.aen wrote: StevenO- I don't know if i could possibly get more bass out of mine! I mean, it's really really thunderous!

My setup pics - finally! I'm waiting for my new cables to arrive so I can get everything wired up. Can't wait!
My lovely, beautiful, fantastic Keeley RAT. This is the distortion I've been looking for for oh...about 10 years:

Re: your effects setup?
Cheers! Yeah, I've been through so many pedals before I finally got it down to (what I consider) the essentials. I've always loved my Phaser, eBow and Tremolo, so those have been with me about 8 years. Distortion's always been the trickiest one to nail down. I've been through...
A Turbo RAT
A Fuzz Factory
A black Russian Muff
A Boss DS-1
A Boss MD-2
...before I finally settled on the USA Muff and the Keeley RAT. I also use my amp's tube OD, which is probably my most-used sound. I used to have a DD-3 before I got the DM-2, and I've been through 3 wah's. I still have my Colorsound, but it's in bits right now.
Various other stuff like an octaver and a Q-tron have been and gone over the years!

Some noise generation, some fuzzy, some modulation.
All I need is a delay pedal with its own effects loop and I'm about done.
