I think right when they came out, maybe i just got lucky? Oh I know! It had kick ass bass when I first bought it, and sounded great when playing bass through it, but I guess I got greedy and wanted more. I didn't really know what I was doing, so I opened it up, grabbed a knife and just went at the diodes and cracked them off. It sounds great for that my bloody valentine and mono wall of distortion type of sound, but it lacks mids and is about 3 times as loud as it was when I first got it. On bass, it sounds awesome but just as it is with guitar, it totally disapears when used in a band context. It's also really picky with what amps and speakers are being used, but I don't think that has anything to do with the mod. It's really cool!
