Re: Setup of the day
Testing out a new lineup for a new band I'm starting soon. Going for that 90s slacker-rock vibe of my youth...

Re: Setup of the day
A couple of fun changes in the rig since the last time I was in here.
Just got my Tele back from the shop, got a new nut on it as the original one was cut way too low, and then got a complete setup. Plays incredibly now. The tech also sanded the back of the unfinished neck so the grain is no longer raised, it's like glass now, truly incredible.
The little power outlet under the amp is a step-down voltage transformer from Nocturnal Amplification. It drops the voltage from the wall down to 115v or 108v, so it can run at the voltage it was meant to run at back when it was made in 1963. Definitely warmed up the tone a bit and it seems to have slightly less attack, which I like too.
Pretty much revamped the board too, added a Hoof and a Keeley Caverns v2, took off the Vox Delaylab and moved the Idiotbox FX No Moon to the bass board (which I will have pictures of shortly, when completed.)
So the setup: Guitar -> Super Hard On Clone -> ZVex Box of Rock -> EQD Hoof -> Big Cheese Clone -> Ernie Ball MVP Volume (with an out to the TU-2)-> Keeley Caverns v2 -> Manecoloop Sweet 16 (16 Second Delay) -> 1963 Ampeg Jet

Thank you very much! It's a pine MJT body with a WD unfinished Rosewood Neck (rosewood neck + board), which is about 1" thick. Bootstrap pickups (Palo Duro in the bridge and a pretzel in the neck.)i love sharin foo wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 4:32 pmThat Telecaster looks great!!Jonesie wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 3:16 pmA couple of fun changes in the rig since the last time I was in here.

Tremolo would perfectly complement everything else you have going on here I think.Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:47 amHaha..a little too atmosphere. Also, in the running is a crowther hot cake and a Neunaber Reverb

Re: Setup of the day
Trem-wise in your shoes I’d look at something that can do a few different waveforms without sacrificing a good classic sine wave sound. Maybe Caroline or the newish MXR thing?Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 10:21 amGood thoughts. If you’re looking for trem and a more conventional reverb a Strymon Flint might do the trick. I don’t think it will do a super choppy tremolo though.

Re: Setup of the day
The flint goes pretty fast but definitely doesn't do the vox/hummingbird/Colorsound pure squarewave chop. It's fabulous at the bias trem 'throb' sound though...almost indistinguishable from the actual one on my VibroChamp. It's worth it, IMHO, just for that.marqueemoon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 10:48 amTrem-wise in your shoes I’d look at something that can do a few different waveforms without sacrificing a good classic sine wave sound. I do like the flint actually. It actually makes a lot of sense because I love reverb so much.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 1:05 pmThe flint goes pretty fast but definitely doesn't do the vox/hummingbird/Colorsound pure squarewave chop. Re: Setup of the day
More reshuffling today. Might swap out the Cool Cat for my Small Clone and the Swollen Pickle for a Black Russian Big Muff. I need to test in a band situation really...
I found the perfect sized bit of wood in my garage stash but it's 3/4" birch ply....which is heavy as hell

Re: Setup of the day
I am ironing out the kinks with my new Lehle switcher and some other things. Had a failure of one of my flat Hosa cables, but no big deal because I am already swapping over to better EBS Golds. The Lehle SGOS switcher is awesome. I am really pleased that my ground loop noise is gone and the dry signals are MUCH improved over my old daisy chained inputs setup (daisy chaining the amps inputs, that is). I am using the tuner output as well so that is one more thing out of my chain. The buffering really helped me out a lot, too. I've been able to compensate on the amps for the added (well restored) treble and everything just sounds better than it did before. The OD120 is set a bit cleaner and brighter where the GT120 is fuzzier and heavier. Using the trusty old BKP Warpig equipped SG. I am now using the Space Echo only on the OD120. For a more background space filler, I'll go that route. For a more present sound it's the AD900. I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get the most out of this stuff. I've been using variations on this theme from well over a decade now and this is certainly a high water mark as far as sound quality. Just need one more Green Matamp 4x12.

Re: Setup of the day
I've been fooling around on bass for the last few days. I just bought this board, TU-2 and Bass Clone within the last couple of weeks, so it got me energized to play a bit more.
G&L Tribute L-2000 -> Boss TU-2 -> Idiotbox No Moon (Rat/Tubescreamer/Muff, all run in parallel) -> EHX Bass Clone -> GK 1001rb Head -> GK Neo 4x10 Cab
I'm not gigging or anything, so the amp is total overkill but I got a hilariously low priced deal on it, so it stays.
