It's hard for me to imagine that there will not be another "limited run" at some point.

Re: Shields Blender - Kevin Shields Signature Fender Blender?
I did it to mine years ago. Picked up a used RI on a whim. Pull one component, replace another with a jumper, and switch the poles of 2 wires on a switch.OffYourFace wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 1:15 pmInteresting how they talked about the expander function being wrong on the older reissues. I kind want to find one and correct it now if the info is available. I thought those RI units were garbage in sound.
Big, big difference. I always say this, but "Tone Boosted" mode after the mod is one of the few fuzz tones I have that legitimately kinda startles me the first time I turn it on.

As much as I like shoegaze and MBV, I can’t see this pedal being useful for me. Looks cool though

I bought one of these. I'm a big fan of Kevin Shields, and it will be cool to have the signed booklet. Pedal looks fun too and quite deep. I don't play MBV-type stuff but I'll try to use it for other sounds.

I always wondered why there was such mystique around KS using this pedal? Did he only use it for part of “You Made Me Realize? I saw MBV several times back in the day and he never used it live when I was there. He had other octave fuzz pedals, like the Roger Mayer rocket, but never a Blender.
“I do realize” (lol) that he had one on his board for the reunion tours.
Looking at a video with him sitting in the studio next to a rack of old effects. One is a Yamaha e1010 analog delay. That’s one of my secret weapons and I would much rather have that than a Blender, sag or not.

My assumption is that’s what he used on Only Tomorrow… unless it’s been stated otherwise?

The first one was super limited in special packaging and sold out instantly. We have a full production run coming in September and we will have plenty then

Well, I need to sneakily start an internet rumour that the MIA ones are superior and more accurate to Kevin's tone (lol) than the MIC ones so we can maximalize resalePacafeliz wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 9:20 pmYeah but i bet they wont be as cool looking, surely standard china boring.

Reverb will probably delete scalpers' listings for like a month, but then everyone will forget and it'll be flooded.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 3:40 amhow long before we see one on reverb being sold by "bloozelawyer69" for $1000+
Still, if there really is a "production" version coming in the autumn, then these may not go for ultra-stupid money, just semi-stupid.

Re: Shields Blender - Kevin Shields Signature Fender Blender?
SAME but I couldn't do it, I am not going to buy in on that shit. I can make the same sounds without the pedal but the idea of "1 unit" was mystical. I am really hating the way they keep recommodifying the things I found magical as a kid to me. I was playing in shoegaze bands in the early 90's and 60% of the shows I went to back then were derivative of that at least on some level. I just don't need to have it all repackaged over and over, it's like a smiths song. Middle Age is basically a fucking Smiths song.
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.
