This evening's spaghetti session with a more electronics-focused friend :
(Also can you spot the other friend who wasn't supposed to be subjected to all this racket of a Thursday night?)

Re: Setup of the day
He's the best, we had to take care of leaving absolutely no cable on the floor because it would have become his dinner.
The red thing is a Hurgy-Toy, basically a miniature hurdy-gurdy made by a local luthier called Léo Maurel.
We recorded the jam we made, it's a bit weird but has cool parts, there :

Re: Setup of the day
A friend from my days at the music store I worked at years ago is coming by to jam so I rearranged the guest/jam room! Also, I scored a Hercules rack for $25 last weekend!
Update: My friend has a very clean ‘66 Twin Reverb and compared my modded UL Twin favorably to his. The Special is really a great amp, greater than the sum of its parts for sure. I’ll never find a better amp for $89!

I can’t believe you still have that Showman Steven. A bit loud for your living room ya?

Re: Setup of the day
Truly is! it’s also super refreshing to play without any pedals. Just guitar, reverb, and trem from the amp.
It really did! It plays and sounds SO GOOD.Ursa Minor wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 12:55 pm^ Fender heaven is right! That OTM Jazz turned out great! Love seeing these all together!
Oh, it makes no sense at all! I’m in an apartment after all… I actually ran into my neighbour the other day and she said “I was beginning to think you moved out, I never see or hear you!” I guess I lucked out in this building.OffYourFace wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 2:16 pmI can’t believe you still have that Showman Steven. And yeah! Still have the Showman… I hated it for years…But then I realized, I don’t dislike Showman amps, I just dislike 12” speakers. 10s and 15s? Yep! Can’t do 12s…

Re: Setup of the day
If your Showman is anything like my Twin it's a nice apartment amp too! I keep my Twin at roughly 1.8 on the volume in my apartment and it still sounds pretty full. I like the WGS ET90s I installed in it but I plugged it into my 1x15 cab last week and I think I liked it better through the 15".StevenO wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 2:43 pmOh, it makes no sense at all! Re: Setup of the day
The volume knob on mine is wonky (looks stock, though) and it doesn’t get LOUD until 4 on the volume knob. Before that, it’s a pretty good apartment at 3 on the dial. My Super Reverb at 2 is another story… 🫨

Re: Setup of the day
It’s a ‘71, from what I remember. The original cab has been chopped down to a head format and the OT has been switched to an 8 ohm so it can be plugged into a wider arrange of cabs. It’s easily one of the best Super Reverbs I’ve ever played/heard. It was also modified for a post phase inverter master volume (in the back of the amp where the grounding switch was) and that makes the amp basically perfect.
