Re: your effects setup?
Just pared down the setup a bit. Got rid of the side table with the 16 second delay for now.
Guitar -> Boss TU-2 Tuner -> Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster -> Barber LTD v1 -> EQD Special Cranker -> Dunlop Mini Volume -> Boss CE-2W Chorus -> Way Huge Supa-Puss -> Boss RV-6 Reverb -> Vox Night Train + Ampeg Jet.

How is the Speaker Cranker? I'm quite gasing on it...but don't really know why

Re: your effects setup?
I love it. I use it on the germanium setting with the gain pretty high (as shown) and it does the Tweed Deluxe on the edge of exploding thing. The silicon side is significantly tighter sounding.

Re: your effects setup?
I realised I don't use the mxr EQ enough to keep it on the board.
I'm thinking of another delay, an EHX Pitch Fork or something weird like EHX Superego in its place but can't decide. Suggestions? Guitar is a Bass VI, musical style is heavy psych rock.

Re: your effects setup?
Nice suggestion. Would certainly fit in but it's not quite my cup of tea.
I put a Memory Boy in the spot. It's set to a short delay on the edge of oscillation whereas the Supa Puss does a longer, warmer delay. They're timed to play together nicely. Can't wait for next band practice.

Re: your effects setup?
(Bottom Right >Top Left) Tuner > Dinosaural OTC-201 Opticompressor > DOD 440 reissue envelope filter > Rat/Turbo Rat > Op-Amp Muff > Fender Pelt > Bluesbreaker > Honey Bee > (top row) EP-3 preamp > Catalinbread Pareidolia > Walrus Audio Julia > EQD Grand Orbiter > Mad Professor Deep Blue > Keeley Magnetic Echo > EQD Ghost Echo. Last little one, is an amp reverb switch for a super surfy, big 3 spring, reverb pan.
The Bluesbreaker spot gets a rotation of other OD pedals, swapping fairly frequently depending on mood, (TImmy, Broadcast, Klon, etc), while the Honeybee stays put. Sometimes the Pareidolia is changed to a Tremulus Lune or other modulation. Everything else has been staying where it is the last few months.

Re: your effects setup?
Does anyone use any of the EHX 9-series (B9, C9, Mel9, Synth9, Key9, etc.) with a synth or keyboard? I've always been genuinely curious about this, especially to get some sounds that I wouldn't have to get a completely new synth for. There aren't many demos of this though.

Re: your effects setup?
Finally getting around to building a new pedal board. I used this board for my touring keyboard rig last where where it had two stereo volume pedals and a sustain pedal. Now it's back to a guitar board. Here's the layout so far...
Tele/Strat/Jazzmaster ->
Tuner -> Compressor -> VB-2w -> WH5 -> Nordland OD -> CC -> Moollon Delay -> CE-2w -> RV-6 ->
1976 Deluxe Reverb

Re: your effects setup?
We use a Mel9 with an organ in my band. Works perfectly fine and sounds enough like a mellotron for the audience not to notice. There are quite a few bands I know do the same in live settings. It's just very convenient not to carry around another keyboard. For recordings we use apps, though, mainly for more options to sculpt the sound and a bit more liveliness or fullness of the sound.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 12:05 pmDoes anyone use any of the EHX 9-series (B9, C9, Mel9, Synth9, Key9, etc.) with a synth or keyboard? That's fantastic! I'm still pretty new with synths and using effects with synths, but does it track pretty well?Zork wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 5:33 amWe use a Mel9 with an organ in my band. Re: your effects setup?
Welcome to my effects journey. Also, I'm sorry for being a lurker who has learned so much from this forum and hardly ever posted. It's just in my nature. Or not in my nature. But I finally got to a place where I'm really happy with the signal path, and thought I'd share.
Here's where I landed:
^This one I use mostly with drum machines and synth and keyboard sounds.
^This is more of the guitar noise-rawk-looping board.
But the truth is I probably use both boards on everything about equally. Still trying to sell some pedals, but honestly I'm praying (a) no one buys them and (b) I win the powerball.
...and here's where I came from. I got pretty hard-up for money this summer, so I ended up selling a bunch of pedals on reverb, and then tried to cobble together a good board from what didn't (so far, anyway) sell. And surprise surprise, turned out I really had a lot of redundant or barely-used pedals, and never should have bought them in the first place. Except how else would I know? So I'm not mad, just another guy who flushed a lot of cash making noises. So yeah, here is what I used to use, both running guitar and synth through:
