(Also, I hated playing under a Dead banner all night. When I made this clear to the crowd, they started chanting "Tear it down! Tear it down!". I love our crowd.)
But how else will they know that Uncle Johnny's Band is playing Dead covers on Friday night? (I worked hippy hour for two years straight at the Midway. If I hear "Fire on the Mountain" again I'm going to set fire to a mountain.

We just waited in the car down the block until we heard the kick drum stop, then grabbed some cabs and bulldozed our way through the door and into the crowd.

And, proudly, my homemade 3-way buffered splitter passed its first live test! And I've even got a spare 4th output, maybe I'll drop a cheap Sansamp knockoff on that line and send it to the PA!

Setting up I heard someone in another band telling a girl I think he was trying to impress, "you really only need a few pedals". \
And you only have a few! I've seen way worse and I've been that person with way more as well.

In a typical move I decided to completely restructure my board almost as soon as I got it together. I sold pretty much everything to fund different pedals. Here’s latest progress, three new pedals.

Really impressed with how all of them sound.

For what it's worth, you KNOW I think that setup looks tasty.

But, for the record, that setup looks TASTY.

Tuner, Overdrive, Delay, Reverb, Tremolo (with exp pedal for rate). All killer, no filler.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Lots of change this end. Loving the silly, overly high-gain head. First time using effects loop on an amp, ever.

DMM Nano is amazing. Straight up can’t believe I ever lived without this. I don’t know what it is- the little analogue delay sounds nice - but the DMM has something lush.

The soft focus is an experiment. Running it at 9v and had to put it in front of the amp as it’s too subtle. Even now it’s not delivering. Ordered an 18v power cable, but a bit gutted it sounds nothing like the videos right now :'(

Anyways. Nearly there & I’m really liking this setup. TR-2 to come, will play around with some different reverb & delay options. And I need a decent pedalboard.

Love it, but why is the poor Sun Face banished under the coffee table?

Very curious about this pedal, but i’ve been so spoilt by the Waza delay that i really can’t imagine anything sounding better. I don’t suppose you’re in a position to compare the two? Obviously the DMM has more functionality, but the Waza just sounds goooood.

It got too much sun and got burned :D jokes aside, I don't use fuzz all that much so it's just there for when I fancy plugging it in and pretending I'm in a stoner band.

Sorry, haven’t got a DM-2 to compare with. I’d say that you could get similar sounds out of the DMM. Adding the mod muddys up the repeats, so sounds less crisp than the dm-2 videos. Delay time on the DMM nano is much longer without needing to flip a switch, of course.

I’d say you’re not missing out with the Waza. Both are awesome sounding things. I just wanted a modulated delay.

Strymon Flint. This should be the end of your reverb/tremolo quest, especially for just home use.

I use a TR2 out live but at home I've been through many, many options and came back to the Flint because it does both SO well and in one small package. The bias tremolo just on its own is perfection

That is a great shout. I loved my blue sky, so know how good Strymon reverbs are. And looks like the tremolo on the flint is simple & will do the choppy tr-2 thing?

Also, when did the TR-2 become £70 2nd hand…!!!

Soft Focus getting returned. That will pay for most of the Strymon. Will use the 80s verb for effect & keep a cheap plate verb on the board for more general use.

If you're patient you can find TR-2's for about 45-50 quid on FB Marketplace still.

The Flint doesn't get super squarewave choppy until its set quite fast...it's mimicking Fender combo Tremolo types rather than Vox ones so they are a little smoother.

Haha same…although for the relatively small amount of time i use fuzz, i have a stupid number of fuzz pedals. Having said that, I think the Waza fuzz ended my fuzz GAS.

Fuck i love the Waza series of pedals. So far i’ve got 4 of the buggers (FZ-1w, DM-2w, CE-2w and SD-1w) and they are all at the absolute top of their category.

Cool cool. Thanks that helps me settle down a bit! I really don’t need any more delays - but i get curious.

+1 for the Flint. I keep wanting to like analog trems more, however the Flint draws me back every time.
