In what input do you plug your guitars?
I've always plugged in the #1 input of my amps, then , yesterday, I've tried my JM in the #2 input of my cheap SS amp, and WOW, it was glassy and a lot more balanced (especially the bridge PU), then I'm gone to the rearshall, and plugged in the #2 of their '70 twin reverb, and yes , less difference than in the SS, but yeah a lot more focused with fuzz and more headroom when straight clean..then tried on the HRDLX and yeah better also there..
SO, what input do you use?
P.S.
I usually run my amps with all the EQ and presence controls maxed.

Re: In what input do you plug your guitars?
I have a Sound City B120 and it has 'normal' and 'attenuated' inputs for each channel.
They provide vastly different sound and I find single coils go into 'normal' and humbuckers into 'attenuated' (although this depend on what is last in your effect chain!)
If you plug into the wrong input the tone really suffers..

I plug in to Vibrato input #1 on my Twin. Pretty standard...

Same, I don't much like the sound of the normal channel, or the second vibrato channel.RumorsOFsurF wrote: I plug in to Vibrato input #1 on my Twin. Pretty standard...

I always plug into the high gain imput of my Orange Overdrive 120. It is labeled high gain, but definitely isn't in the vein of modern "high gain" amps. It seems to have more dynamics to my ears when using that input.

I normally plug my JM into #1 (no pad) on my blues deluxe, and my SG into #2 (-12dB).

Also #1 input of the vibrato channel on both my Showman en Tremolux amp's.
Don't use the normal channel often and pretty never use any #2 input. Perhaps I should try them....

I really like to mix inputs (link them with a patch cable) and get a nice blend.

I occasionally jumper the inputs too...but usually I just go straight into input #1 of my Tremolux's Vibrato channel.

Speaking of your Tremolux, if it's not a rude question, what did you pay for it?zhivago wrote: I occasionally jumper the inputs too...but usually I just go straight into input #1 of my Tremolux's Vibrato channel.

I can't really remember to be honest...there's a thread on the FDP somewhere when I bought it...
so I guess it was about 2 years ago...
I think it was about £450 in total with shipping and tax...then add £80 for a good step-down transformer.

Re: In what input do you plug your guitars?
yeah my MOSFET marshall only has one input too..
but on amps that have more than one input i always use the high gain / bright one.
