Hey All,
Been looking at swapping out my Vox AC30CCH for something more in the Marshall-sounding camp. An offer came up through FB Marketplace for an older first gen Laney LH50R. Looks like a cool feature set and a dedicated clean channel has a lot going for it. It's currently loaded with 6L6s, but I plan on swapping in a set of Mullard EL34s I have kicking around. I got in contact with Laney and confirmed that the gen 1 LH50s could do this.
Unfortunately, it's kind of hard to dig up extensive reviews on these amps online. Anyone here have any input/first hand experience on these amps? Am I getting in the Marshall ballpark with this amp? Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Re: Laney LH50
I think they’re Marshall-y. Drive channel sounded similar to the GH50 from what I can remember.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Cool cool, that's kind of the answer I was hoping for. I'm in contact with the guy now to see how he wants to set up the exchange.
How do you they take pedals? Evidently the clean channel is immaculate, but I'm curious how low-gain the distortion can actually get. It'd be cool if I could get it to go more on the edge-of-breakup side of things.
Any more input is greatly appreciated!
