Oh wow! If they're anything like the originals I'd love to have one.

Aren’t they owned by Fender now? I remember the branding was used for cheap Strats made in India, with Sunn O))) Mustang on the headstock … doesn’t fill me with confidence.

FMIC bought them in the 80s and drove them into the ground 20 years ago. I've not heard anything about them selling the rights, so I'd have to assume they're still Fender-owned.

Which is fine, Fender knows how to make good amps. The only question is whether they learned the right or wrong lessons from their failure the first time around. Hopefully they didn't go, "well, the big loud amps never sold well, so let's revive the brand as a line of 5-10W practice amps. Those are popular these days."

That's not to say that I think they should only make reissue Model Ts. I think Sunn would actually be the perfect brand for some Tone Master type modeling amps - half of Sunn's legacy was the Beta Leads, so solid state is part of their brand DNA. Stick an accurate Tone Master type model of a Model T in a head with a 250W class D power amp and now we're talking. Keep the tone, keep the ability to move mountains, but also give it a direct out and the option to play at sub-tinnitus levels and to be carried in one hand.

That's an amp I'd love to check out. Better yet, make it two channels with a Model T on one side and a Beta Lead on the other. That would be fantastic.

That‘s interesting for sure.
I hope they bring back their „Silverface“ aesthetics too (Solarus, Spectrum, 200S etc) - maybe smaller versions…thinking of the new Laney Supergroup variants (LA series which even go down to a 5W studio version)

They should work with the band of the same name, they seem to sell out the pedal they co-design and know their way around gear. Also just only because they're partially responsible for the reputation of the originals, I guess.

Hot take, but I'd rather see them revive the solid state stuff at an affordable price. Something to compete with Orange's "Crush" series.

Would never pay big $ for a new Sunn tube amp when the old school Traynor and Ampeg shit is cheap and sounds as good if not better.

Agreed. Old school solid state is underrepresented, especially with bass amps.

Yep. Let's do that. Beta Lead in a Lunchbox or smaller. Hopefully that might get those glow in the dark H|H's to reappear in a similar format :D

joined the mailing list, hoping for some 50 watt and lower offerings that don't look like microwaves inside.
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

Like empty with a spinning plate with a burrito on it? I'd be down for that...very "Geddy Lee playing in front of appliaces" vibe
