10A125 is a GREAT speaker.DeathJag wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 9:53 amThe Weber 10A125 is what I put in, they sound super nice and smooth. I must say the reissue Jensen P10Qs also sounded real nice. I have not heard vintage 10" Jensens, nor vintage JBL 10"s (tons of 12" and 15"). I do have a '62 Bandmaster cabinet that has original Oxford 10K5s (I think). I don't really love those! Kinda dry.
One of my favorites all-time... at least the ones I was getting like 10-15 years ago. Reissue Jensen P10Q is definitely good, too.
Vintage 10" Jensens are also great, but many of them (most?) are dead or reconed by now. These things are old and made of paper + glue...
Vintage JBLs are anything but "nice and smooth." "Bright and crisp" if you like them, "harsh and edgy" if you don't.
I love an old Oxford too, in the right circumstance. It really just depends. Most of the old speakers have their uses, and many of the new higher-end ones are also really nice.
