Got an amp. Demo Beatles cover page 5
Early Traynor YBA something .. i drove 3 hours for it. It was dirty as fuck when i first saw it. It looks a bit better now, but will try to get it nicer looking..
It uses 7027As in the power section . Seems to be stock. Even the tubes. Still has the old power cord, so I didn’t plug it in yet. I actually don't know that it works. The dude that sold it to me said he powered it on briefly and the light came on, but that because he didn't have a cab, he didn't know if it worked or not .
I took a chance. It wasn't that cheap either... But still not bad if it ends up working fine. Ill work on it tomorrow . I'm very tired after the drive .
I have the grill btw. im just drying it off close to a heater..

Cleaner. The good thing is that it doesn't smell like smoke .

What's the purpose of that big ass brown cap that goes to the switch and the OT? Anyone know?

Re: Got an amp.
It's a YBA-1, one of the earlier ones as mentioned, this has 7027As.
The value is 80 uf @ 450 v
Here is the schematic .

Replace V3?OffYourFace wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 10:29 pmNo Prob... my one concern is I think those burned up resistors are part of your phase inverter ckt. I'd replace those, replace the cap cans and V3 before turning on. But that's just my guess from looking at these pics.

Re: Got an amp.
V3 is the phase inverter tube. The one closest to the power tubes.

Re: Got an amp.
Yes ,but why would V3 be bad?
I was just going to recap it, replace the two 470 ohm burned resistors and add a grounded power cord.
The tube looks physically fine. Do you think it might be bad?
