Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb and headphones?

Hey all! I just want to ask for some help regarding my amp, a deluxe reverb tone master. I love the amp and I'd love to be able to use headphones with it. There is an xlr on the back of the amp and the idea is to connect that to my sound card, a Scarlett solo. Then hook up a guitar cable from the vibrato channel of the amp, into my pedalboard and into my guitar. The amp has a built in cab simulator so it should just work but it doesn't. I can only get some sound when I open up Bias fx 2 but it is brittle, harsh and distorts very early, nothing like the actual tone master deluxe reverb. I'm a total noob when it comes to sound cards, interfaces, recording, etc. so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
