What’s the difference between all the Tweed Blues Jr’s?

Make it loud here.

I dunno, both 'smaller' and 'boxy' seem like really clear and obvious descriptors.

No cork-sniffing required.
Respectfully disagree. "Smaller" and "Boxy" seem to really mean "I don't like." And, that is fine. No one amp is gonna fit everybody.
No, 'sound smaller' literally means it sounds smaller - as in size, a measurable thing. Or take it to mean it sounds like an amp with a smaller speaker if you want...either way it's a palpable and measurable descriptor. Boxy, well, that even has a defined meaning:

I'd understand if we were using dumb TGP-esque nonsenses like 'mojo' or 'creamy' etc but we're using definable terms here.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

The lack of haunting mids make them very unappealing indeed.

They may not be haunting, but they are buttery

sigh. ok... even if "boxy" has a definition. Thanks for that, and I will concede that point... I see no problem with "boomi-ness" in my particular Blues Jr. The mids (in my opinion) are fine. It is an ok amp for what it is... in my opinion. In other's opinions it is terrible... awful... not to even be considered. And with that I am out. Best wishes to all.

Is that why they use so many different Speakers in the Blues Jr? Hoping to find one that has the right magic?
And that's why they keep adding in new editions with different speakers, they haven't found one yet!
