New amp day - Blonde Tone Master
Just got my Tone Master Twin Reverb delivered today. I found a blonde demo for less than the price of a black panel so I had to do it. I only played it for about a half hour but so far I'm loving it. For reference, my only other amps are a Yamaha THR5 and a Bugera V5 so I'm definitely not qualified to speak on how it compares to a tube amp. Apologies for the non-offset pic, but my Kurt Cobain jag is in the background!

Congrats! I got a Tone Master Twin Reverb a while back and it's a terrific amp. Enjoy!
I want the new Tone Master Super Reverb - hopefully, I'll be able to snag a used one at some point.

Thanks! Definitely going to enjoy it, I finally feel like I have a "real" amp haha. I bet the Super is insane. There's no way I could ever justify owning that, if you have a place you can really crank that thing I'm very envious.Surfysonic wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 9:16 pmCongrats! Congrats! Looks gorgeous. A twin reverb has always been my dream amp and I'm really tempted by the tone master. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks! I know there are a lot of people who can't stand the thought of the Tone Master but it's exactly what I wanted in a great looking package. I never got too deep into the tube stuff so I have no idea if it sounds "right" or not, but to my very untrained ear it sounds the way I think an amp should sound.

I don't believe you'll be disappointed. I have the blonde one, as well. I have a few other quality tube amps, and it holds up nicely in the tone category (and definitely in the volume, too!).
I think Surfy put cream cupcake knobs on his -- I saw it in a video -- and I did, as well. I also put a flat-panel Fender logo on mine. It gave it a nice vintage vibe with those two mods.

Yup, I did both flat logo and cupcake knobs.Tafarel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 1:54 pmI don't believe you'll be disappointed. I have the blonde one, as well. I have a few other quality tube amps, and it holds up nicely in the tone category (and definitely in the volume, too!).

I recently put the stock logo back on as I needed the flat one for my cab that I've paired up with my '63 Showman. I might get another flat logo, but I'm fine with the stock one for now.

That looks fantastic. I'm still in the honeymoon phase but it is nice to that if i get bored i can tweak the looks a little bit.Surfysonic wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:58 pmYup, I did both flat logo and cupcake knobs.Tafarel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 1:54 pmI don't believe you'll be disappointed. Thanks - I get that it would look more authentic with the painted numbers on the plate, but I just think of it like a classy watch with no numbers.

With a twin, especially for the gigging musician, this makes so much sense. Light weight and all the twin sound you could ever want.

Re: New amp day - Blonde Tone Master
This was my logic behind getting one. I am not a gigging musician but will hopefully be taking the amp to jam with other people and maybe do some recording. The line out, light weight, and reliability all just made sense. I figured it made more sense to buy this and just have something that covers all my needs.Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 9:38 pmWith a twin, especially for the gigging musician, this makes so much sense. It looks good! I think sometimes people get a little too hung up on every little detail being "correct" with vintage-inspired gear. If nailing the look of an old amp floats your boat go for it, but don't let it get in the way of enjoying your gear! For example, I see a lot of debates about things like guitar headstock shapes and unless it's REALLY ugly i could not care less as long as the guitar is comfy and sounds good.Surfysonic wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 8:22 pmThanks - I get that it would look more authentic with the painted numbers on the plate, but I just think of it like a classy watch with no numbers.

Re: New amp day - Blonde Tone Master
I really want the blonde Twin! Just to match the blonde Showman and Studio bass amp I put into a Showman style cab. I just don't need another amp...
How does it surf, Surfy?

You could probably justify it as a way to save on transporting your nicer amps. It's light and probably harder to break. Just sayin'.N0_Camping4U wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 12:34 pmI really want the blonde Twin! Just to match the blonde Showman and Studio bass amp I put into a Showman style cab.
