Whoop!

So, how is it? It's been a hot minute since I've played an old Sunn (maybe 20+years) and never one of these. Looks to be in great shape.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

From what I can tell - great shape indeed. It has also been checked recently. Which was a selling point. But you never know what happens during transport...

I have yet to figure stuff out and find my sound.
But it‘s plenty loud. 2 is the maximum I can bear from a 4-5m distance. The Reverb Sound lush and nice - not Surfy Bear or Topanga drippy - but enough for a surfy sound.
It won‘t really get into tube saturation unless cranked (which is fine for me) but it‘s also not really clean clean. Got some colour. Contour knob is pure gold!
For the Tremolo - I hear it when not playing (that it does something internal) but it‘s not as dominant as it is on my Dripedge Bandmaster. I don‘t know if this is what it‘s supposed to be or if it is just missing the Footswitch... but a pluck in the back where the FS would go just deactivates the Reverb but has little effect on the Trem.

More insight to come (soon).

Sounds like the optocoupler is ticking. Not unusual on older amps as I'm sure you know. I can't stand the sound of those when they get old....give me bias trem forever, just a shame it's so rare.

IIRC these use the same 2-button style footswitch setup as your regular Fender amp (TRS jack) so plugging one of those in should yield good results in actually turning it off rather than just down.

Yeah, I‘ve heard. That‘s lucky because I should be able to get one of those either locally or at least from Musicstore or Thomann...
In the lower settings it‘s more noticeable I wasn’t able to dial in that sweet fast pulsating trem that I love so much from either SF amps or my pedals.
Nice amp nonetheless.
Thanks everyone for participating!

A past bandmate had the combo version and it was really a great sounding amp. Enjoy!

It has found a place in the living room for now! :)
But I need to sort that impedance problem before I could play it with that old Bassman cab... as it‘s 16 vs 4 Ohm
