Soundcity L120
I´ve been searching the forum and could´t find much info about this amp. I might be in the need of an amp to be used mainly with my baritone or Bass VI and there´s one of these in what seems to be good shape for €450. I know it´s loud and I´d be using it as a ¨"pedal platform", but never had the chance to try one.
Anyone using one of these around here?

She's not wrong. I played one once in a rehearsal space and it was easily louder than my OR120. Peeling paint loud. IIRC they have six (yes, 6) EL34's in the power section
They are absolutely brutal when cranked.

Yep. I used to use the 50+ though. I still have it, but it needs a service oh so bad.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 7:56 ammy dad used one in the 70's and 80's. my mum said it was the loudest thing she'd ever heard.

What about the sound? I heard they´re loud and clean and can be brought closer to an old Hiwatt with some modifications, but that´s about it.

Re: Soundcity L120
They're very Hiwatt in tone when clean (which is a LOT of clean). If you can hack it, turning them all the way up and hitting with a boost of some kind (or a very hot pickup) and they sound like a goddamn chainsaw. In a good way.

Not bad, that should be a good enough reason to buy it.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 9:23 ami called my dad to ask. his reply was "it was the only amp i could find at the time that could take my peavey T40 and my proco rat"

I've got no personal experience with this amp, but there's a local band that uses one and it sounds great. I'd buy it in a heartbeat for 450 euro, the last one I've seen here sold for close to 900.
