Failed New Amp Day

Post by Jaguar018 » Mon Apr 05, 2021 5:59 am

Well guys, I thought I had finally done it. A Roland JC-77–the little brother of the well-known Roland JC-120. Some of the OSG elder statesmen have chatted about this amp as a great, somewhat smaller, amp.

There it was on Reverb for sale at a local store for a great price. Buy It Now. Done!

Until my phone rings at the end of the day and I get a message that they sold it in the store that day and my money was being refunded. :'( :'( :'( Too good to be true.

Bummer, I have the even smaller JC-55. We use it for keys more than guitar and it’s a great size for the sound.
The smaller JC’s pop up pretty frequently , you’ll get one.

The issue now is that you'll have convinced yourself you deserve to own one, so will now find one and buy it anyway, even if it's overpriced. That's how GAS works, just see if it doesn't.

Sorry that it didn't work. I love my JC-77 (pretty much my main amp nowadays, although often paired with a Super Reverb). There'll be more out there.

Thanks for the support. I know they’re out there, but I need one to come through this same store. I want one for sure, but I’m not going to hunt the ends of the earth for one and have to pay crazy shipping. I’ll just be patient, or somewhat patient.

Ha this happened to me several times, including twice this week with other gear. I understand Reverb allows them to dual list things, but the seller should really be taking down the post if the item isn't available.

I made myself feel slightly better buying a little Hotone compact amp (the Soldano copy) I don't need at all.

The Rolands are popping up now and again but they are inevitably followed with the dreaded three words, "local pickup only." I am going to be somewhat patient and hope I can find one in my neck of the woods unless I find a great deal from someone with a sweet shipping discount.
