Re: HOTONE - Nano Legacy Amplifier Heads
These're tempting for sure. I've just always wondered, it is "HO TONE", or "HOT ONE"?
I don't wanna sound like a ho.

These are cheap, we could all afford to have HOs in every area code we go to..

I did buy the bass version a while ago and it was crap. Returned it next day at best buy.

Re: HOTONE - Nano Legacy Amplifier Heads
Anyone who can answer this?Filipe wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 7:15 amI'm a bit confused by the headphones/line out. As I understand it, there's some kind of cab simulation on this output, to make it sound decent for headphones or direct recording.
But what if you want to use it with a cab simulation pedal or DI with cab simulation like the Palmer PDI-09? Would you connect it to the line out, the speaker out or the send?

Re: HOTONE - Nano Legacy Amplifier Heads
I assume it's like the little Vox MV50's in that regard. The headphone out is "speaker simulated". But it's an EQ thing and not IR-based. I had much more success using an IR pedal (Mooer Radar) with my MV50AC from the headphone jack than I have with the speaker out into a Suhr Reactive Load IR.

I almost bought one of these and then 100% didn't. I have owned a few of their pedals and they are great products though
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

I bought the Mojo Diamond to hide inside this old radio enclosure. I knew it would be small, but I was still surprised how small it actually is when I got it. Anyway, it sounds pretty good to me through the Celestion ten 30 I put in there. The pedal on the left is a Holy Grail Plus.

Re: HOTONE - Nano Legacy Amplifier Heads
The second one of these HOTONE Nano Legacy 5W amps that are available arrived a couple of days ago.
Most of the Hotone Nano Legacy are too overdriven for my taste or at least if I want that level of OD I prefer to achieve it via the valves being pushed.
Also the tweed version, while sounding great, does not add anything to my pallet.
The first one I bought was a VOX AC15 / 30 sounding unit … very realistic .. even impressive.
This second one is their take on a Bogner Shiva amp.
I liked the clean sounds I heard on the demo vids and sure enough the amp does all that in spades. Plus the ability to thicken up and not just go into OD is also a great feature.
At about US$50 to your front door it is a great amp and a great price..

Re: HOTONE - Nano Legacy Amplifier Heads
Agreed about the others being high gain. I grabbed the Soldano one for fun, and there isn't a clean setting on it. It's just balls out distortion. Not gonna lie though, it's tons of fun.sookwinder wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 3:18 amThe second one of these HOTONE Nano Legacy 5W amps that are available arrived a couple of days ago.
