Marshall JMP-1 - really good!

Post by Amber » Sun Apr 15, 2007 3:50 am

I just bought a JMP-1 for £299. They've stopped making them now. It's amazing. Wasn't sure what to expect. I've owned a lot of amps, Mesa Mark 1 (original)  + 3, JCM 800, Peavey Classic 30 and more.

This amp can really do a lot. It really has so much clarity while sounding thick. Really pleased with it. It sounds great direct to PC/Mac for recording. I've managed to create Swervedriver, Pumpkins, Therapy?, Dino Jr sounds really easily. It works great with pedals.

For now this will mainly be a studio tool till I move and get a new 4 x 12 and power amp or some sort (or maybe use it with a head).

I highly suggest people try them out, I thought it was mainly a metal pre-amp but it can really do a lot. The cleans are great too. Much better than Peavey C30.

Anyone else tried one?

Architecture students are like virgins with an itch they cannot scratch,  never build a building 'till are fifty, what kind of life is that?
