ISH....

A tweed Bassman, at least the only ones that people talk about, is Fixed bias. Cathode bias provides a little more sag/squish. Also this is solid state rectified which is a bit stiffer than the tube rectification of a tweed Bassman. So more sag/squish in one area, less in the other.
Yeah, I noticed the lack of tube rectifier after I posted that and it made me rethink my assertion somewhat. Whatever it actually is, I bet it sounds great.

I have a 1st gen Hotrod Deluxe (one of the USA ones) that I think sounds absolutely fine (not great, just, well, fine *shrugs shoulders*) for gigging with. I've never had an issue with it but it doesn't see much use as it's just a backup. If I wanted to tour with it I'd be tempted to convert it to some kind of more reliable internals - and reduce it's power a little as they are (excuse the pun) loud as balls for such a small amp.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Cool, I wish I could hear what that sounds like. Tweed Pro meets BF Bandmaster vibes?
