I dig the nuclear look but I'd wanna add in a lighted voltage meter tied to the input signal. Go the whole hog into making it look like industrial equipment bogarted from a government lab.

RAT is the answer, question is whether you have the guts to snap off the other letters

RAT wins.
I've got a "Crate" sticker in the big, white "classic" logo style coming. I'm gonna slap it on the side with some tape above that says "Let Them Eat...", just so they know what hit 'em, if they wanna look closer.

Oh, I love that, but now we're talking tech work above my pay grade. But there IS a lot of space in the chassis near the input jack...
Nope. I'm too fickle, I guess. I'm telling myself it's because the nameplate mounting screws are at the ends. But if I get a wild hair at practice one day ...

also, good to know i'm not the only person who personalized their amp. i've got an old 4x12 and i've got a ford granada badge on it.

Because of some psychological hangup, I guess, I generally like keeping my stuff tidy, not worrying about wear and tear, but making it look like a good clean example of what it is. Generally.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 11:08 ami'm gonna say go with rat.

But CABS? For some reason I'm all about messing with them. Like, I don't know why more people don't personalize their cabs. Leave the shiny Fender logos and faceplates on the heads alone, sure, but I say cabs are made to have fun with.

In 30 years, there's gonna be some dude with that old cab, scouring every corner of the internet for the Granada Amp Co, just sure that he found a cab from some obscure builder or company.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 11:08 amalso, good to know i'm not the only person who personalized their amp. i've got an old 4x12 and i've got a ford granada badge on it.

Re: Personalizing My Amp / Brand Shame?
I stumbled across someone selling diy boards for adding a simple voltage meter to any electrical input and am seriously thinking of adding it to the next pedal I decide to cobble together.

Why have I never seen an assman that was once a Bassman? These are kind of the things I ponder.

Re: Personalizing My Amp / Brand Shame?
„arsh“ (Arsch - german for ass) is a common thing to happen to Marshall cabinets (and some amps) in the german speaking area… at least in Austria I‘ve seen some… or „all“ for (outer) space for some Kraut-Rock bands maybe…
