Looks like tremolo is ring/sleeve, and has a resistor inline. Maybe that is bad?
In the process of removing the resistor, the part of the switch that it was anchored (wrapped around) came out. I'm going to have to replace the whole switch. I'll also get a replacement resistor while I'm at it. Thanks for the help!
Oh, dang. That’s a bit of a bummer.

I ordered a couple of switches from Stomp Box Parts. I went to Milkman's website to see if there were any specs on the footswitch pedal (didn't see any) and found that Tim sells the footswitch pedal in the accessories section. I went ahead and ordered one to use as a primary. If I can get the other one working again, I'll keep it as a backup.

Just received a response from Tim:
ah ok - so you have one of my hand wired combos? The resistor is in there to keep it from popping very loud when you engage the tremolo. Its not necessary.

Most of the time people make the mistake of using a guitar cable for the foot switch. That will surely nuke the tremolo because you need a TRS cable which has 3 conductors (not 2). So if you use a TRS cable and the foot switch you have and its still not working, its probably the cable that went bad.

There are a lot of unused lugs on that switch - you can just bump over to another pair

Either way - you are covered with a new switch and TRS cable so I will just shut up and ship it off to you :)

- Tim
So I think I first went wrong not using a TRS cable (not even sure I have one). Hopefully, I'll get the other one working when I get the new TRS cable with the other pedal.

Doh! Yeah, that needs a TRS cable.

Sorry, I thought that’s what you’d been using.

LOL I had no idea what a TRS cable was, so your mention of it in one of your previous posts whooshed over my head. :-[ :fp:

While Tim is sending a TRS cable with the new footswitch pedal, I went ahead and ordered a TRS cable for the footswitch pedal that I have. I'm going to reassemble the current footswitch pedal per Tim's advice.

Maybe I can use this footswitch pedal for another amp with reverb/tremolo. Tim has a disclaimer on his webpage that it may or may not work with other amps. In any case, it will at least be a backup for my new footswitch pedal. 8)

Cool, well my experience is with Swart amps. They use the same style of footswitch with a TRS cable where one switch shorts tip and sleeve and the other shorts ring and sleeve.

Good to know! Overall, it's been a learning experience going forward!

The footswitch pedal has been reassembled - now waiting on the TRS cable to see if it'll work properly.

TRS cable arrived - reverb and tremolo work...sort of - I can turn on and off the reverb but now the tremolo just stays on, heh. Maybe I need to wire to another lug or something. :derp:

I have a bunch of extra TRS cables, they cost a ton. I woulda sent you a couple Steve. But hey, glad Tim hooked you up! I’m on his list for a fancy pedal. Luckily I paid for it before dropping the lettuce on that jag haha!

I bought a Hosa 15 foot Balanaced 1/4" TRS to 1/4" TRS CSS-115 Cable off of Reverb for $15.15 - seems to be decent enough. Thanks for the kind thought, Daniel!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the new footswitch pedal & TRS cable from TIm. I hadn't considered that he might need time for building the footswitch pedal, so I have no idea when he'll be able to ship it out to me. No rush, as my backup footswitch pedal is alright for now.

Replacement Milkman Reverb & Tremolo footswitch arrived with TRS cable. I finally got the original footswitch working. It now works perfectly with the Milkman Creamer. :)

With the understanding that the Milkman footswitch doesn't with other brand amps, I tried it with my Vox AC15C1TV and Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb. These amps' Reverb can be turned on/off with the footswitch pedal but the Tremolo just stays on. Ah, well, I'll keep it as a backup footswitch. Who knows, maybe I'll get another Milkman amp down the road. 8)
