I have none, but the guy who used to play in my band has a tweed Super GA400 - monster amp with a buit in tube compression circuit.  I've tried a few later '60's Gibson tube amps and found them cold brittle and sterile.
I can't hear the forest for all the falling trees.

Well, being the guy who bought your former 1964 Falcon, I'm quite happy you did sell it!  ;)

Great little amp for home practice!

I'd love to get a 50s GA6 one day, they look so cool, but it's hard to find them in the UK...maybe one day I'll snag one on US ebay :)

They're a nice amp. I like the little blonde Skylarks too ..

i was just posting abot the various amps i have had in the past, and then i look and see this thread.

i used to have a gibson ga-30, it was a truely cool amp, the one had was built by trase elliot for gibson in the 90's

it was 30 watts class a, channal switching, had a parelell and series effect loop. and was plenty loud!

the other thing that was cool about the amp was the 1x12 and 1x10 speaker set up, there was definatly a cool blend harmonically. i still wish i had the thing, but you know how it goes, you see something you want something has to go.

the biggest complaint i had about it was that it didnt like to take dirt pedals very well, but then neither does an ac 30 in my opinion.

so yeah, not vintage in the least, but still a gibson amp. i dunno, i hope i'm not crashing the thread too much. but i was damned proud of that piece.

I own approximately...zero Gibson amps. And I just checked their street prices yesterday. Waaaaaaay overpriced. I believe I will never own a Gibson amp just on principle.

I have a 1958 two-tone GA20T combo and I use it regularly. It's a 14W amp (2 6V6's) with it's original Jensen P12R still running fine. It's quite similar to a Fender Tweed Deluxe from the same era but voiced to sound a bit thicker in the mids and it's a bit cleaner sounding at lower volumes. It has two channels, one has a 12AY7 as V1 and is closest to a Fender, the other one with a 5879 pentode which sounds clearer, more like an AC15. It will keep up with a drummer

I haven't played a whole lot of vintage Gibson amps but I surely like the late 50s amps. Let's hope they'll stay affordable so I can pick up another  ;D

My roommate has a 60's Gibson Duo-Medalist.  It's amazing. All the knobs go to 12!!!Craziest Tremolo I've heard.
I keep trying to let me have it.  It's not working.
I tried to buy the 4x10 model on ebay about a year ago, but totally got shafted.

I will try to get some pictures of it.  Gibson has no record these amps even existed.

In the bottom left corner of this picture you can see my gibson duo-medalist. I'll post better pictures soon.

Gibson changed their circuits with the weather, I worked on many a Gibson over the years and never saw a duplicate circuit within a model, there was always something different. Got a notebook of just the various Gibson circuits somewhere, was a little obsessed with comparing the variations within a model, learned a great deal about amps from them.

Nice amps, always enjoyed working on them, good and proper point to point wiring, none of that pain in the ass eyelet board nonsense. Would not mind owning one someday.

Edit: After some thought, I did come across a few duplicates, they just were not very interesting and a let down since there was nothing new to discover.

None right now, but I've owned a few different models from the 1950's and 60's era. Great amps for the money, lots of great tone and fun to learn about their history and construction.
