Doug,  this maybe a strange thing to say .... but I always feel like the world is in a better place when you are (1) working on a project and (2) the project is a jaguar.

what a good score there as well.... there are certainly still bargains and half bargains to pick up on ebay.
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

I guess getting another 24 inch 1964 neck is out, even if from a MM/Duo/Mustang? I swear I have seen them before with the Jag number on the heel. Just a thought. They can go for between $100-250.
What's he building in there?

yeah, i'd go for a vintage musicmaster/duo sonic II neck - i just got one a short while back for just under $200, and i saw one end tonight on ebay for like $165 i think it was...

i can't wait to see the process....  :)

i was bidding on that. i put in $900, but only a second too late.
i was gonna just rebuild the headstock and make it matching. i would've probably done the whole thing lake placid blue or something.
oh well.

Sure, I could live with a 24" neck from a MM/Duo II... even if only for awhile (until the right one comes along). But the main things going to be putting a nice finish on it first, and cleaning up all the parts. The electronics and everything look fine.

bubbles... you would have got it for $867.77  had you got your $900 bid in on time. It went all the way to my max bid, meaning the second bidder was less than the minimum increment away.

Sookwinder's right, Doug!  Your talent in restoring guitars is unparallelled.  Your talent is wasted at NASA! ::)

You should be restoring old offsets full time! 8)

If there's a Vintage XII bridge lurking around, I reallly want to know about it.

Dammit, you have such coooool projects Doug. And serious... do you work at NASA? Cause then you should have Yannis' avartar.
Need some XII pickup covers....

when my nephew realised I worked at a car company, at the age of 3, he would ask me what did I do there .... so for the next 3 or 4 years when ever he asked what I did I told him I was the guy at the end of the production line who checked to make sure there was air in the spare tyre ... ;)
