Re: NAD! UL Fender Silverface Twin (Pic Heavy)
all stock Fender lamps I know of were red glass jewels. However, replacing them with blue or purple was an easy, reversible, and therefore extremely popular thing to do at the time... 1970s and 1980s. You see a lot of them with this one little custom touch.

Re: NAD! UL Fender Silverface Twin (Pic Heavy)
Thanks! I saw tons of sites that put them down, but I personally like it. There were several places I saw good things about them though. Clean and loud is good by me. Like one person said on their site, "If you dislike your ultralinear amplifire, please feel free to ship it to me for proper disposal." LOLfradubio wrote:I have a UL ProReverb that someone modded w/ a 15" speaker. People often malign the ultralinears, but the pro sounds quite nice. Congrats on your find.
Nice info on these old amps. I enjoy the blue so I think it will stay.øøøøøøø wrote:all stock Fender lamps I know of were red glass jewels. I got my replacement tank today. Was a killer deal. $18, how could I argue? Here are pics.

Yeah, that amp sounds really great! I have a '79 UL Pro Reverb that needs a new tank really bad and I'd been figuring on getting one of those MOD tanks - now I'm 100% sold.

I think it sounds really nice. Granted I wasn't able to fix the original, but it is basically the same size, same spring setup, with a couple minor updates. The original parts all fit.chnlone wrote:Yeah, that amp sounds really great! Thanks! I wish I didn't have company lined up for the next three weeks. I want to play more. I really like this amp. (Aside from moving from room to room. LOL)noisepunk wrote:Sounds good, makes me want to go play

Great demo man! It was surreal seeing it again, sounds like it's in great hands. Glad you sorted out the reverb.

And the best part is that it only weighs 25 pounds... right?

Works perfect. Was a pretty easy fix. Just plugged in the new one and was good to go. Love it!Joeleo wrote:Great demo man! It was surreal seeing it again, sounds like it's in great hands. Glad you sorted out the reverb.
The tank and wheels might be 25lbs lol. I think the box said it was 70 or 80lbs.countertext wrote:And the best part is that it only weighs 25 pounds... right?

I used to help my buddy haul his Twin when I was young. Now I let him do it his damn self.

It shows the love people have for an amp when they are willing to drag it all over the place. This almost weighs the same as my wife and there is no way I would carry her all over my house. I almost always get someone to help me carry mine- it weighs practically nothing when the weight is distributed properly, and part of what makes carrying it yourself so hard is the awkward shape.countertext wrote:I used to help my buddy haul his Twin when I was young. I wish it has two side handles so you could grab it that way also. I am always nervous about carrying it by the one handle.noisepunk wrote:I almost always get someone to help me carry mine- it weighs practically nothing when the weight is distributed properly, and part of what makes carrying it yourself so hard is the awkward shape.countertext wrote:I used to help my buddy haul his Twin when I was young.
