A few of my favorites....

Bowie's cover of I'm Waiting for the Man - Love Ronson on this track!

Kate Bush doing She's Leaving Home - That note on the minute mark - oh my goodness....

And CSNY with Woodstock, proving one can make any song badass.

I guess we can go back to where we started, this is Nirvana covering (very well) the Wipers:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLonezn5haU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyway, Wipers are as good as Nirvana if not more so, so I include the original:

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Best cover ever? I give you Devo doing "Satisfaction". Definitely the best job of making a song completely theirs.

I was prepared to hate this (can't stand CSNY), and I don't, but I still think the original is far better and plenty bad-ass on it's own.

IMO the best version of this often covered classic:

Speaking of Calexico, I've always been very fond of their cover of Love's "Alone Again Or"....

Though not a huge fan of the original... I could listen to this cover every day and it would still make me shiver... very moving...

Queens Of The Stone Ago covering an old Subhumans song, Wake Up Screaming.

From start to finish this song blows the original out of the water. Incredible cover!!!
