Seems a bit expensive for a guitar that looks busted in half.sexy andy wrote: am I crazy or is that super cheap?

Re: Humbuckers in a Jazzmaster
Gosh I just saw this I sure hope no one here bought this b/c it is a Jack. The first tip off is the way he words, and makes claims then claims ignorance and no desire to take anything apart, and lastly vague claims of it being old, and only wanting cash.
From the pictures aside from the cracks.
He claims it is a 58 59 and minus the L he might be right.
The tuning keys are not original,
There is an extra string tree.
No good picture is the neck so I would suspect that it is not original
It is not fully strung up, and the neck is not fully screwed down... I wonder if it could handle proper tension.
Of course 1 pickup was swapped out so the other electronics are suspect too.
$1400. man someone got jacked...

Gonads are useful for their purpose, but are NO substitute for brains.

Justin
I'm playin' with the thought to modify a JM with humbuckers, too. So, as I see you have made experiences with preparing the pickguard. Is it really possible to drill holes in a Pickguard with a common drill? So that HB's of a Deluxe Tele might fit?
thanks
