No, I think I'll be hanging onto Sterling for life. But if that changes, I'll ping ya.

You didn't like the Desert Sand? I think that's a cool color, myself.

desert sand was/is a cool colour. i think they could've mixed it to be a litter darker, though, to look more like vintage desert sand pieces look.

i basically only stripped the body out of curiosity - what's the ash look like? how many pieces? how thick is the poly? does it really change the sound? does it add weight? etc. etc.

just like when i stripped the neck, i was surprised at how much was on the body - poly is thick!!
it's a 4-piece body, but it took me a minute or two to find all the joints - it would look great with a trans finish. i don't know why fender didn't use this body as a blonde baja...
the unplugged sound did change once i'd removed a lot of the paint - more noticeably on the low end.
and the (already lightweight) guitar does weight a bit less now; not much, of course but some. i saved as much of the polyester chips and chunks as i could so that i can find a little scale and weight it all, haha. it won't be a pound, but definitely a few ounces.

i figured the worst that could happen is that i'd just have to have the body painted 'poly desert sand' again, heh.

Fullerplast is doing that to one of his JMs. Check the vintage restoration section. He's using Mixwax! I love it!!

I've had this tele for almost 16 years. It was the first electric I ever purchased. Started out as a Mexican Standard. Now the only original parts are the neck, body, control plate, and screws. Everything else has been replaced over the years.

Here is a tele-sonic that I found for sale. It might be an old listing.

It's an MIM 50's Classic Esquire with a Gibson P-90 from an SG Classic shoehorned into the neck position. Modern 3-way Tele switching. A Lollar Vintage T pickup sits in a Joe Barden bridge. It's lightweight and probably indestructible.

I was able to play my new Tele for the first time with my band. I was worried it wouldn't fit in, but wow, what a sound! It sounds amazing! A really, really great guitar.

I definitely like it more than my Jazzmaster at this point.
