I wonder if they ordered these guitars with the flatter radius for the better playability factor or if it's so that they will appeal to more people and so that they will sell better? Hmm.

Good question. I'd guess for the appeal factor. Since they are getting all non-traditional, I'd wish they'd offer one just like this but with an ebony board. Sonic Blue + Ebony ==  :? in my book.

If Fender used the same rationale for these that they did for the AVRI Hot Rod models then it may be a playability issue. I got the impression from Dave's Guitars that this was the case and that the Fender CS was incorporating "the most requested" changes to the various thin-skin models -- neck radius, fret-size, and wiring on the strats and teles.

Now, if only someone could tell me whether the Jazzmasters will have tortoiseshell or mint-green pickguards.

wow....if only they had them left handed and I had the money.....
maybe the japanese can get me a fiesta red jag with matching headstock...but thin skin would be nice... :-*
