Custom shop JM

Post by mavsbball » Fri Mar 02, 2007 9:14 am

Has anyone ever had a "one off" JM built through the fender custom shop or known someone who has? Because i know you can do that now and i was just wonderin gprice wise what it might cost and how long it generally takes.

There are a couple people on the board who have had them made. As for wait time, I think it depends somewhat on who  builds it. In general though, I believe it is usually up to a year or more. Price depends on what you want done and I don't think one will be had for less than $3500 or there abouts. I am just repeating what I remember hearing from those who have had ones built though, so hopefully they can jump in and give some more detail.

Youve always been able to order a one off Masterbuilt JM.
.
3500 is pretty much the minimum for any Masterbuilt.  As you add more and complex optins the prce goes up

My Masterbuilt Jag took about 7 months.  I used Dennis Galuszka.  He is kind of the Jag and Jazzmaster guru there at the present time

Is that a crown inlay in the first fret? Is there a pictorial of this guitar?

Edit: Never mind I just found it!  http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/vie ... 820#p11820

Intonation.  And when the screws poke up (because it's generally believed to be better to raise the saddles rather than the posts to get proper height out of the bridge) they hit the back side of the strings instead of the music-makin' side.  That about right?

Hey lalalandstudios is really sweet, does the reverse bridge help with the common problems of the strings slipping off? And do you mind my asking how much your custom JM coat you about?

lalaland, your JM is just gorgeous. It's my dream to have a Jag masterbuilt for me at some point. I was thinking of aged Oly White, matching 68 headstock and gold guard  :? But my view on what Jag I'd like changes from day to day.  :D

EDIT: and I've just changed my mind again  ;D My Jag would be Inca Silver, matching headstock, black guard, black blocks and binding, white pups and white witch hats.

:? :? :? :?

I'm saving already!
