Peghead Evolution

Post by thewizardofaz » Sat Feb 10, 2007 4:03 pm

What is the chronology of JM peghead evolution. When did the peghead change from the JM peghead, which was slightly larger than the standard one, to the CBS.

Here's a comparison from necks I have here.

I think it was late '65.  I have an August '65 stamped neck with dots, binding and the old headstock.
I can't hear the forest for all the falling trees.

I've been making do with big CBS pegheads for my project, but now I actually have a JM peghead. Now I can make a tracing and buy from USACG and get it right.
