Does a Jazzmaster fit in a 60's Jaguar case?
Are there any differences between jaguar & jazzmaster cases from the sixties?

They're supposed to be the same cases, although with the Jaguar, there will be a bigger gap between the headstock and the case because of the shorter neck. The Jazzmaster will fit real tight.

There's a little wooden bar, covered in the same material that lines the inside of the case, which fits just next to the headstock and is supposed to convert the case from a Jazzmaster to a Jaguar.
However, the case I've got with one of those bars in it actually fits a Jazzmaster perfectly if you squeeze it in .. in the cases that don't have those bars, the JM has a bit of wriggle room. I assume that's because the padding in the lined has compressed down over the years where the guitar rests on it.

Some Jag cases have the bar that Mez mentions, but many don't. I've seen the spacer at either (or sometimes both!) ends. I don't think they were real consistent... either originally as shipped or at the store when bought.

I was going to offer to photograph mine .. I should've known there'd be no need for it!
That top pic is so cute. It looks as if with the proper care and feeding it should grow into a whole case.

I have a case for my Jaguar that have a badge that says "Rockcase by Warwick". It were much cheaper than a Fender case.mewithoutus wrote: um, does anyone know where i can get a case for my jagmaster, and not spend an arm and a leg for a fender one? those fender jaguar/jazzmaster cases are freaking expensive.

The U.S. distributor for Warwick/RockCase is Dana B. Goods - http://www.danabgoods.com/ - I'm sure they could get you a list of retailers if you called or e-mailed them.mewithoutus wrote: oh right on thanks alot. do they sell these in the us from a us retailer?

A jazzmaster will definetly fit in a soft Coffin Case.
And you can leave it in your car unlocked, because anybody scummy enough to steal the BC rich they think is in that case already has one.

I prefer their older stuff.

Same case for both.
