let's see them 70s Jazzmasters/Jaguars!
ok i see there's A LOT of 60s offsets everywhere, but we hardly get to see the ones from the 70s, or even the last-issue early 80s ones.
now's the time to show off!!!
let me start with a guitar the HOPEFULLY someday soon will be mine. she's my other ex-guitarrist's 1972 jazzmaster...
she's quite beat up like i love 'em (looks pretty clean in the pic, though) and yeah... has gone thru a HORRIBLE fretboard swap which will have to be reversed someday. she's basically unplayable as-is, so now she's got a cheap squier strat neck on. bummer. i LOVE the b&b necks...
see how they just ripped off the old fretboard and glued a 1 inch thick board on there. THE HORROR.
oh well... so i say... she will be mine, oh yes... she WILL be mine.
*sigh*
now let's see yours!
oh and them blackguards too!!!
Pat.

Here is my old trusty beast. Been playing it for almost 3 years now. (makes it old trusty for me, as i am 17 now)
Anyway. Heavy polyfinish. Can't even imagine how it has taken all theese war mark's (it's been owned by placebo, i was told by the previous owner, after the sale), which might make some sence. They probably abused back in the early 1990'.
And here is another pic from my buzzstop period.. It is removed now, and will never come back on.

Haha. Yes. Back then I actually did know anything technically about Jazzmasters. For 1 and a half year I played the guitar with the trem arm falling out of the trem-system when playing too aggresively. Then i took it to a guitartech for a check up and he noticed I never had been able to push the trem arm all the way down (to catch those little tooth fuckers)
It's my best sounding guitar. The combination of thick poly finish, rusty hardware, small old frets, and a new set of 52' strings, into my matchless clubman with the reverb all the way east! - Then I'm in tone heaven!

B&B is seriously the hottest shit ever. If I ever buy another jag or jazz, it will either come with a B&B neck or I will put my own on it.Regan wrote: I wish I had one with a B&B nck to show off......

1978! Older shots. It now has 2 black knobs and a Mustang bridge. Waiting on some actual late 70's black knobs in the mail from another Offset member. I'm also entering her in the "Most Beat Up Jazzmaster" category. My theory on the wear, since it has hard edges where it comes to a point which tells me it wasn't sanded, is that this is a case of thick poly/plastic finishes chipping uncontrollably. Seems the original owner gave up trying to contain it and threw a clearcoat over the original finish.
With the new bridge- well, new for the guitar. The bridge is ancient:

It's a '69, but a '70 should be almost identical. The guard is an early '60 one though.
